    If you worked for Weber...

I know that whatever happens has to be something that makes money for the company. I personally have a couple of early Genesis grills that I have fixed up so that they will last forever by welding up stainless steel frames for them, so it's unlikely that they will get any more money out of me...

Might be worth it for the outdoorsy custom wood handle though.

I see that Aldi is test marketing fresh coyote in Chicago. I wonder if they have a rotisserie attachment for their bbq grate so as to do a whole coyote… Gerry

I don’t know when that side basket started. Mine had it and it was called a condiment basket. Gerry

The wider whitewalls were used until the late ‘80s or early’90’s. I had that same Genesis 1 purchased in ‘92 and it had the narrow whitewalls Gerry

    Garage Heater

Well, it seems to me that you implied I was being disrespectful I wasn't. I was poking fun. I get that both of us have a bit of respect for Larry. Gerry

Well, Larry passing gas with the best of us? My wife would vehemently disagree. I have read about Larry's affinity to electric vehicles. Fine. I think my original question was asking why he wasn't considering natural gas. I guess you feel like you can answer for Larry... Gerry

WOW! I have plenty of respect for the guy. Don't know why you thought otherwise. Gerry Edit: When are you headed to Milwaukee? Edit again: Why would I or anyone care if your brother is like Gretzky? Should I prepare for his arrival?

Maybe you and I can help him size up the gas piping to his garage. I'm thinking a 1/2" line to the garage will work. What do you think? Edit: Might have to go to 3/4" for his turkey fryer. (I seem to remember he loves turkey, but I may be wrong :) ) Gerry

What goes good with Whiskey ( Got to meet Mike Rowe)

Well, how good is that whiskey? I would think that a great whiskey needs less cooling than an anything below in quality. Kind of like beer. The lower quality it is the colder it needs to be to be palatable. Gerry

If you are referring to my post, yeah, it's a small poke. I know he knows a little about natural gas. :) Just wondering why he chose electric. Gerry

Since you have everything ready to go electric, I got nothing. But why not gas? Oh wait, I guess you have no experience in that field... :) Gerry

Have 4 Webers and find the quality and service to be going down hill.

Thanks for that. I have always thought that my mom's cost for the '87 was around $600. That would have been very expensive back then compared to the other gas grills of the time. I'm guessing that the price for a '87 would have been lower than your $600 receipt. edit: On closer inspection of...

Have 4 Webers and find the quality and service to be going down hill.

From what I remember, the gas grills before the Genesis were using lava rocks which collected grease and had flare up problems. Weber went to flavorizer bars instead and that was a great improvement. Weber also went above and beyond in the construction. I believe the frames were powder...

What goes good with Whiskey ( Got to meet Mike Rowe)

Agreed! But then, why the ice? :) The OP is gifting to his 80 year old dad. I would suggest that what goes good with that bottle is to have his family around. At 80, I doubt he needs anything else. Gerry
