    First Run this weekend

Right after I posted this, the controller spazzed out again - noticed the target temp went from 67 to 92 - after I changed the pit temp back, the gui froze up and the display started scrolling this sequence https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMvFtX2zS4zOSATsknoFyNpprwQEgnZYH90BjOLwvNwgS...

    First Run this weekend

I wasn't very disciplined in my "testing" it was more ad hoc. I did have the fan attached on one of the hot water pot tests, but, it was short lived (a couple minutes to get from cold to boil) - it has been connected up for days but without having the fan on it - just having it track temps on...

    First Run this weekend

I ran into something weird. I had the HM powered up and running in my office for a few days, testing it with a hot water pot and fiddling with the settings some - getting familiar with alarms, etc. It worked flawlessly thru multiple power cycles, no problems. Got the wifi setup and had all...

    Lid Open/Closed condition

I got you now - I was looking at the ld command to disable the open lid function. I have it set at 6 and 240 in the GUI (and from the CLI)

    Lid Open/Closed condition

I'm not sure I know how to set the lid detect trigger to 0%?

    Lid Open/Closed condition

Test run today - the pit temp will be below target, fan will kick on - run for several seconds and then the "Lid Open" message appears momentarily and disappears and the fan kicks back on again. Any ideas?

    Blower and Damper?

I have an 18 and 22" weber smoker. Usually I'm running a full smoker - keeping temps up is more of an issue than keeping them down. I rarely use water in the pan. I'm trying to figure out if you have good control/constriction to the blower (if it's not running, air is not freely flowing), why...

    Got everything sorted out!

I got a cable to wire up the fan today and when I initially tested it the speed didn't vary no matter what I did. Did some searching and checked the voltage and (surprise, surprise) I had it wired to the 5V lead. I cut all the wires and then just put a V-meter on each and then changed the...

Works fine on USB, 12V not so much

I had another 12V 1.5A power supply (from an old USB disk drive) and tried it out for grins and giggles and guess what? Works fine. I bought this just for running the HM: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B006GEPUYA/tvwb-20 NKC 12VDC 1A Wall Adapter Power Supply LJY-186 Thanks for the...

Works fine on USB, 12V not so much

I hooked up the 12V power supply tonight and the unit powers on, it appears to go thru the boot sequence and then beeps, all lights flash off/on and it appears to reboot. Does this continuously. Works fine on the USB power, had it up a couple days no issues. Any ideas?

    Thermocouple probe insertion force

I got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B008S0K9KU/tvwb-20 REED Instruments TP-01 Beaded Thermocouple Wire Probe, Type K Are the pins on the TC supposed to be entirely inserted into the connector on the TM? It is very tight, and I didn't want to force it - thinking there...
