Interesting about the Traeger guys. At the end of the day, competition is good for the consumer for sure. I mean, even the Cuisinart ones bring in some new ideas to the party. Traeger has plenty of products in a different price segment than the SmokeFire, so I am sure they aren't too worried...

Looks like the release date of the EX6 has moved to February 10th. Atleast that is what it is saying on Amazon for my order. So much for a super bowl cook!

Seems like a smart temperature probe. Really smart move. Seems like with it telling people what to do via phone/tablet notifications will remove alot of the hurdles people have to getting it to BBQ. I know I learned by burning and undercooking alot of meat, lol. This Grilling Hub could help...

Interesting. The "Smoke Mode" is going to be a feature coming after launch as well. Seems like the app/software is still in development, even this close to launch.

I don't think there is an official date. To be honest, I am pretty surprised. I would think they would have sent a few to Youtubers for some free advertising by now as well. It won't matter a few months from now, but my anticipation is pretty high.

My Amazon order says January 25th currently. But there has not been an "official" release date given by Weber yet.

I do think that where other manufacturers have an advantage is they offer sub $1000 units. The $500 - $700 range is pretty large. I would guess that range is the biggest segment. I do think that $1000+ can be dominated by Weber for sure. I could see them coming out with a $600 model in a few...

Speaking of software updates, saw the question answered on Amazon - Q - Can you smoke foods at a set temperature under 200? If so how low? A - Hello! At launch, SmokeFire units will only be able to go as low as 200 F, but there are plans for a "Smoke Boost" feature, that will be rolled out...

I don't think they feel the need to offer any incentive right now. The people who would even consider preordering a grill are already enthusiasts and can't wait to get their hands on it already. Now I sure would have liked a free cover with the preorder, but in all reality I preordered anyway...
