    Curb Alert !!!

If that’s your greatest sin you are better than most… Yes I would say it’s wrong assuming the offer is not explicitly “help yourself to whatever parts you want” or “It gets picked up by my the trash man on Tuesday” They usually want it gone and they don’t want to hear about it again. Part of...

    Curb Alert !!!

Off to parts it goes. I have a faded Skyline that could use some parts. Thanks for the background. I didn’t realize it was that old. One last picture… the drip pan holder looks prehistoric

    Curb Alert !!!

Thanks for the date info. I didn’t realize the grill was that old. No readable label or documentation. I am going to disassemble the grill and sort out the parts to see if anything can be reused. To restore this grill would be a lot of labor and about $300 to $500 for the correct parts for a...

    Igniter for Silver B

I have had good luck with this brand. It’s probably no different than the Weber or different from the other aftermarket choices https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076GYMZ68?tag=tvwb-20

    Curb Alert !!!

It does have a basket on the right hand side. The legs that have pads not casters have leg rot. The ring is noticeable in the glare of light. I have seen all sorts of items left on lids that have left an outline. This is not bad. What’s the build date range on a Genesis 1?

    Curb Alert !!!

I probably should be doing my chores… this was less than a mile from me and on the curb and free which is about the maximum effort I will put in for a grill. I don’t subscribe to Facebook but I could see where the grill was from the post. The lid was in good shape and cleaned up to a grade A-...

Whoops! Anyone else ever do this?

We have multiple grill users, grills and side burners. If the tank is turned off no leaks. So turn off the tank when finished is one of our rules. I have found the grill running unattended. Side burner valves open leaking gas. Grill valves open leaking gas. The common failure mode was the tank...

Whoops! Anyone else ever do this?

You could get a timer. Looks kind of pricey but it might make sense for Natural Gas https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09NBFJR55?tag=tvwb-20

What age range is this Summit from

That is probably the only 4 burner summit I would consider. The base model 4 burner without the rotisserie burner offers nothing that you can’t get with a Genesis.

What age range is this Summit from

I have had good luck with the Summits like that sticking to my rule of maximum price $20.00 If they are in ok shape and can be restored I sell them “As is” to a Summit fan. If they are rough I can pull out parts and send the carcass to the scrapyard.

What age range is this Summit from

Hi Bruce, Sometime after 2008. They didn’t change till 2024. I’m not good with the models but it’s probably s-470 The Weber Summit S-470 grill is a premium gas grill with a sleek, stainless steel finish. It typically features a polished stainless steel hood with a center-mounted thermometer...

I will just leave this here

I changed my wife’s Spirit grease tray and pan over to a Silver B on. I think I had to shorten the rails which was an easy fix I did have to outboard the tank which was a little work since the Spirits of that vintage don’t use a tank scale

    Weber Genesis Old vs New

Other than a 14 inch Smoky Joe kettle that the kids wanted for s’mores I haven’t brought a grill in the 30 plus years I’ve been grilling. The only thing I buy is burner tubes and ignitions every few years and I can usually reuse those parts on grills I sell i thought it was an acronym Break...

    Weber Genesis Old vs New

The newer grills, less than 10 years old, require less time to fix so they are ok. The old ones don’t make much sense economically but they are more satisfying to work on. You can recover the costs on the old ones and squeak out a little profit. Cheaper hobby than classic cars or boats
