Have you considered “back to black” trim conditioner for your knobs? It’s made for car trim but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on knobs.

I would suggest something along the lines of tieng the frame together with aluminum angle iron and then laying some sort of aluminum slats for a floor. I agree with Bruce, the wood is going to look strange with the rest of it.

I believe the best way to do this is to change the manifold. From what I’ve read these kits can be dangerous.

That actually doesn’t look too bad. Get one of the grinder wheels designed for removing paint and rust. Smoke grey was the closest I’ve found but it’s quite a bit off, though not bad if you paint the whole panel.

What a steal! The stainless grates are worth more than that!
