    Silver A Frame Connection

I would push the parts together, and then drill and tap for a 1/4-20 bolt. Cheers Gerry

    Need an opinion

I would look for a metal supply shop and see if I can get some stainless angle the same thickness and width and cut them to length to fit the grill. Gerry

New surprising find in Germany - Genesis 1

Agreed. Also moving the crossbar "one floor down" :) will give you easier access to the lower shelf. Gerry

New surprising find in Germany - Genesis 1

He is talking about that front cross bar on your grill. It is installed higher than normal. In the manual's picture, you can see that the right side of that cross bar is mounted to the middle of the front to back cross bar, while the left side of the crossbar has the illusion that it's mounted...

Deciphering Old Weber Gas Grill Serial Numbers

Look again at both sides of the cross bar in the picture. Also appears to be an American version of the owners manual. There does appear to be an extra cross bar at the rear of the grill though? Gerry

    Anybody grilling?

Temp varied with the wind. I was trying to keep it at 225, but it got down to 205 a couple of times. The last hour and a half I cranked the heat to 275 or so to get it done. We wrapped it in foil and towels and put it in a cooler for a few hours so we could go out for the afternoon. When we...

    Anybody grilling?

I took advantage of the nice weather to smoke a pork butt. Cooked low and sloooooooooooooww with apple and hickory mixed for smoke. Fat cap was removed to allow more bark. On the grill with a full pan of water at 5:00 pm. Pulled from the grill 23-1/2 hours later. Internal temp is 200...

How old is your oldest gas grill that you use most?

The one on the left is from 1987. The other one is 1985 or 86. They have a few newer parts though🤓. Gerry

    Grill brushes

Thanks guys, LMichaels is right, but you have to take into consideration that there is a variation in pitch in the grates. Those are 3/8" rods, so I started drilling holes in the spatula one or two size drill bits larger. I had to eventually go up quite a few sizes before the spatula fit...

    Grill brushes

I’ve used grill brushes for years and never noticed any problems. I didn’t bear down real hard on the bristles like I have seen others do, so maybe that helps. Anyway, now I have the good stainless grates and I modified an old spatula. No need for a brush anymore. Just a high heat preheat and a...

    What Disappointing Steaks

We've had Omaha steaks sent to us and I agree that the quality doesn't justify the price. We have had better luck with Kansas City Steaks, and we have sent them to friends as thank you gifts. The friends we have sent them to are not really "steak connoisseurs", but at least the KC steaks are...

    rejuvenating a 1000

Re the thermometer. I don’t know if it makes a difference, but I think that if the stem isn’t straight, then there might be binding in there causing it to be off. If your thermometer is bent, try straightening it and see if it works better. Gerry
