My Vieluxe with enclosed side burners has a mechanical gas shutoff that opens the supply valve when drawer is slid over to operate. My Summit 450 side burner has a cover with the entire rear exposed for ventilation and no gas safety interlock.

I haven’t contacted the guy with platinum frame yet - that is 80miles away I’m picking up the silver B tomorrow- it fires up apparently but can’t tell if bars or burners are good If my brother in law decides he wants the whole works with side burner, then I’ll look into the platinum I sent...

My original Genesis 2000 that was passed along to my sister when I got the Summit 450 needs some love. Some rust throughout frame, needs slats, grates, drip pan rails (where can I get these)… but drip pan looks serviceable and stainless bars seem intact Am I missing something? Worthwhile...
