That picture was when it was brand new 8 years ago when I just finished putting it together and put the painted lid on it. They are always covered.

    Q320 paint job

Bruce, I used a nylon power brush head in my drill to rough up the finish. I then used Rust-oleum 1200 degree black and 2000 degree clear coat. I wanted it to match my Q2200 that I use for camping trips.

    Q2200 searing temp

My Q320 reaches 650 on a hot day in stock form also ,no need for any mods. But the Q2200 that I'm talking about only reaches 450, no where near hot enough! If you are happy with yours, more power to ya. I was not at all, but have been very happy with these mods for the last 8 years. I appreciate...

    Q2200 searing temp

Absolutely!! if you don't know what you are doing, don't do it!! But if you are half way competent, this is a great mod for searing steaks!!

    Q2200 searing temp

Richard, I forgot to take pics. I use this grill for camping trips only. I did this conversion 8 years ago, very tried and true. Don't remember the bit size, I got it from a grill mods site. As far as the regulator, anything is better than the junk weber Q regulators. You can use a adjustable...

    Q2200 searing temp

I am grilling chicken and also a potato, carrot, and onions foil bag for supper tonight. Will take some pics. then of the warm up. Not going to cook that at 700 degrees, more like 350 degrees for 30 to 45 min., or 165 degrees on the chicken.

    Q2200 searing temp

Searing some loin chops at 700 degrees for two minutes each side to a perfect 145 degrees. Stainless steel grates burn off to a powder in 10 minutes at this temp for easy cleaning!

Stanbroil Stainless Steel Cooking Grates For Weber Q

Simply not true, the rod style stainless grates work fantastic!! Heat is heat, my grill sears steaks exactly the same as the cast iron grates. If they didn’t I sure wouldn’t brag them up, I would replace them immediately, as I grill several times a week.

Stanbroil Stainless Steel Cooking Grates For Weber Q

Stanbroil Stainless Steel Cooking Grates For Weber Q

You are really going to enjoy cooking on the SS grates. It's the upgrade that these Qs really need to make them functional. The rusting of the cast iron and porcelain coating flaking off in your food will not be missed. I still get the same beautiful sear marks, and same cooking time without the...

    A weird one

You are correct Bruce!! The stainless steel option is much better!!, and I speak from personal experience. not just opinion. As a person who grills just about daily, the stainless outperforms the cheap cast iron every time, and sears much better!! The best part is, it will not rust or flake...

Stanbroil Stainless Steel Cooking Grates For Weber Q

I do not line with foil, to me that would defeat the point of grilling. I use a Weber grill brush, and the grates clean very easily, much easier than the rust prone cast iron grates! Pull the trigger, you will not be disappointed with this upgrade. These grates are very high quality for the...
