    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

the rear bolt that attaches to the manifold is quite rusted. Maybe it’s not tight enough? Advice on removing this bolt?

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Conversion done. I finally have a bread basket! Will I use it? seemed to reach temperature quickly. Back burner has a bright orange flame - do I need to just brush the holes more aggressively? What else could be causing this? Best to keep aluminum or black drip tray? I can see why the flip up...

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

I was so perplexed that there weren’t slots - it didn’t make sense from a logistics perspective. So glad I found them. also so glad I didn’t get the manifold only - I wouldn’t have had the holder. The silver b one doesn’t fit the earlier model. thanks again for the encouragement.

I will wait for the rain to stop before I move around all of the internals.

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Great - drill and bolt on. Will do. 2.5” enough? And looks like I have to remove the right side fold up table, or see if the left side fold up from other bbq can be flipped.

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

New bolt! And a new problem. NG frame does not have holes/slots for the propane hanger. Wild. Is there a recommended solution? Perhaps I could drill through the hanger and bar and secure with nuts? Or is it me that’s nuts? Will I somehow have more problems when I go to add the NG manifold to...

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Having a lot of trouble removing the bolt holding propane holder in place. Have wd40’d it and tried with a gentle impact driver but no luck so far. Advice? my backyard looks insane. edit: I can agree that the type of oil doesn’t matter! I still won’t use bacon grease. We have enough racoons...

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Food grade doesn't matter at all, but vegetable oil does go rancid - so I wouldn't use that. Mineral oil is the most neutral oil I own, so that's why I'd use it.

I would probably try mineral oil first. Food grade, and never goes rancid. Great suggestion thanks. Assume that eyeballing all the parts is my best bet?

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

So now I have three bbqs! A silver b and an NG and LPG 1000-5500. Assuming this all works I will sell the silver B, and the extra I’ll clean the hood so it looks nice. Will either sell the NG or strip it for part for the two that are 1000-5500: hoods and cookboxes, are they all the same...

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Larry, can you clarify/confirm that the whole manifold needs to be swapped and not just the nozzles?

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Thanks! - Bruce is checking too. The rub is that I’m in Canada, and shipping may be prohibitive. I have an extra hose and regulator from an old silver b and worst case Could strip from my existing bbq (also silver b). — Next question - I have never ever used a grill cover - a found that it...

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Side note: grill fit no problem in my forester. question - manifold doesn’t fit, but is regulator from silver b compatible? I.e. do I need to find a manifold or both parts?

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

Good news! I picked up the grill at a great price. Grates are SS as are flavourizer bars which are in great shape. There is almost no rust that I saw. A couple of melt marks in the dura wood, and 2 plastic end caps missing from the rear square bar. The inside of the lid is even shiny! now I...

And - advice on how to get into car with just one person (me)? Especially if I don’t take off firebox (but yes lid and slats)

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

this worked fine with silver b but concerned the older style is taller, so less room. Maybe remove the wheels too? Which I haven’t done in the past

If it doesn’t fit in my Subaru, how long/difficult is it to remove the firebox?

    Weber 1200 NG to LPG

I made an offer on the 1200, thinking I could pick up the redhead and mix and match, but sadly the redhead is gone! So I will need an LPG manifold and regulator.. Edit: if anyone is selling a compatible manifold/regulator and it’s not insane to ship to Canada, let me know. edit2: any red flags...

Wait - one more question - are the burner tubes compatible between models or also not?
