    Paint for the mini

Paul, I just did 2 mini's with different paint jobs. Both turned out great. I went with the VHT high temp paints. I first added the Self etching primer and then the VHT paint (3 coats) and the the clear gloss (2 coats) If you can fit the parts in your oven, bake at 200 degrees to harden. I...

    Hello from Mckinney Tx

My name is Joe and I have been reading this site for a few weeks and thought I should say hello. I have been bbq'ing for about 6 years now and love learning new techniques and recipes. I cook on a WSM 22.5 and also have a Bradley digital taking up space in my garage. I also have a Mini WSM that...

    WSM mini smoker purpose ?

I have a few reasons for building a Mini. The first was portability. I was sick of loading the WSM in my truck and driving over to friends for some ABT's or a few chickens. This makes things very easy when travel is involved. The second is fuel consumption. This little thing runs on 1/4 of the...

    First Cook on Game Day.

Touche' Tim. I went to the Lions game in Green Bay last year on New Years day. What a fun time. Everyone was great and the entire game day experience was second to none. I look forward to going back this season.

    First Cook on Game Day.

I decided to fire up the new mini WSM on game day and try a Garlic and Rosemary rubbed Tri-Tip. I also made some of Doug's smoked mushroom dip. Both Turned out great. I was thinking about adding some blue cheese crumbles to the mushroom dip next time around. Smoked some mushrooms with a...

My first Mini is finally complete.

I want to thank everyone on this site for their help during this process. It's been a lot of fun and kind of addicting. I hope I am able to load the photo's on here correctly. I just finished my first Mini build this afternoon. I will break her in this weekend with a nice Tri-Tip and some...

Painting, curing, and the enhanced handles question

I love the wood handle as well. Where can I get one? I am painting my mini tomorrow and will get some pics up. I plan to run a few test cooks this weekend.

Painting, curing, and the enhanced handles question

I just received my die cut decals yesterday, so those will be interesting. Let me know how yours turn out. The handles still concern me. I've been told that the colors turn a little darker at the bottom of the pot (after a few burns) if your using something other than black. What color are...

Painting, curing, and the enhanced handles question

Chad, What did you decide to do regarding your burn? I am going to paint later this week and my pot has handles as well. My initial thought is that they can withstand a 200 degree bake, but now i'm not so sure.

    My Version of the Mini!

Dave, Did you spray anything else on the middle section before the Blue color? What was your process on this? Thanks,

    My Version of the Mini!

Thanks for the info. I will have to see if I can find the VHT posts for some pointers.
