thanks I ended up finding some on amazon. Which looked more like what Weber originally used. Rip off. But I wasn’t sure if the other ones would add space between the frame connection.

Today I painted the box and hood side panels. But project is on hold until I get the hardware for the frame. Will have to fix some rust spots on frame as well.

Yea the gold platinum and silver had the same cook box that I’m aware of. I have gold and platinum and I have interchanged parts between them. As long as we talking 2005 type.

Had you guys ever seen one like that ? I’m pretty sure genesis 2 not 2000. Didn’t have casters. All the ones I’ve seen restored never seen a genesis 2 with that lid. Only the 1986 original one with the different wood going horizontally.

I thought I had found the deal of a life time. Saw someone had posted a genesis 2 late 80s in really good shape with rotisserie and everything. However wasn’t able to get through to the person they never responded to my multiple messages. Don’t think who ever it was knew how to use offerup well...

How did you manage to remove the inner liner?

Yea ironically I think I got a set of those hongsos for like 14-18$ as well and I was amazed that a magnet didn’t stick to them.

Thanks for the info ill try the amazon ones. the original ones that came with them are usually in good shape again 304. But sometimes the crossover burner weld which holds the middle tube falls off and then the cross over tube are in bad shape. But the new Weber ones I’ve seen lately literally...
