Should my stainless grill / flavorizer bars look like this after 1.5 years?

Also I stopped cleaning after I cook. I leave the grease and crud on as a protective seasoning. I scrape with a wooden scraper after preheat prior to putting on food.

Should my stainless grill / flavorizer bars look like this after 1.5 years?

I used to have a Weber cover but water seemed to go through(mine is not protected by deck). I gave it to my dad when I gifted him a e/w S310 since he has covered patio. This cover was way better. How's the lower cabinet? Any rust there? Your new grates are better for more reasons than...

A Christmas Story - with a Weber flair

Good story. My Weber lid logo has some chrome flaking off. I agree older ones were easily restored compared to these cheeply chromed ones. I noticed newer ones at Genesis 2s seemed to have a thin layer clear epoxy over them.

Should my stainless grill / flavorizer bars look like this after 1.5 years?

RichF, Can you talk more about the environment of your grill and how it's stored and how often used?. You said its covered but in MN you get real winter's and real summers. Something weird about how it's aged compared to mine that 5 years old. The only achillies heel I found for California is...

    Broken handle on kettle grill

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

Best way is to vote with your wallets. It's not the only way but it's the most effective. It's hard to keep blaming companies for what they do if we keep buying. We all sell out a little though and have to live with that. China can produce some amazing products so I don't automatically assume...

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

I can't blame them for moving some lower end stuff to china for competitive reasons. However I always thought Kettles could remain here in the USA. As a marketing tool keeping high end priced here in the USA and the kettles would go a long way while still saving a lot of money on the higher...

2018 Genesis II: Two New Grills

Just tested my E330ep and. Flavorizers magnetic, rod grates slightly magnetic (hard to detect in some places maybe because it's round?), warming grate not magnetic and handles not magnetic. Used regularly in bay area California for over 5 years. Covered during rain with good raveena brand...

Should my stainless grill / flavorizer bars look like this after 1.5 years?

My deflectors didnt look that bad after 5 years. However I'm in California where weather isn't so punishing. Its not under a covered patio or shed, but I have a good canvas cover with vents.

This is kind of cool. Mt. Prospect, IL

Very nice. I put a styrafoam cooler inside the storage bin of my 1st Gen performer. I'll usually put 4 beers in there with an ice block while I cook or hang out in the back. I like this one because you have a tiny bit of workspace even with the cooler.

    Weber Performer 1488001

I have a 2012 PIlot. It fit easily with 2nd and 3rd row seats folded down. I think maybe all I had to do was remove the lid. Everything upright too so I didn't have to remove the grates inside. I think I did remove the grates n guts for fear it would be too heavy to lift into the pilot myself...

Another Charity Project: Restoring a Genesis S-310 2013-15

Mr. Tofte, Your grates could with alot of effort look like these too. De-greaser soak a second ez-off soak and alot of scrubbing should get down to this. Grate on the right has only been scraped with aluminum foil and a wood grill scraper in 5 years. Also did the top warming rack (you can see...

Another Charity Project: Restoring a Genesis S-310 2013-15

I actually haven't used the slow n sear yet. Been using the gasser last two weeks. I just dumped the leftover charcoal from my old baskets in. I'm only cleaning one of the gasser grates right now. I'll put a side by side after.

Another Charity Project: Restoring a Genesis S-310 2013-15

wow. that's impressive. You're building it better than weber did. I've never took out my stainless rod cooking grates out of the grill to clean them. Just scrubbing tops of them before and after cooks. Dang i'm starting to feel it's not worth cleaning them because it's so hard. 5 years of baked...
