    Weber Charcoal - $12/bag at Lowe's

Home Depot in Newark CA(bay area) had a whole pallet at 17 a bag. It would be a favorite here if it was cheaper. Heck even the reaealable waterproff bag is nice. After 4 months out in elements.

    Genesis Platinum

I can never figure out what about this design causes this. I have an ep330 and I left it out in rain 2 days and that's all it took to start rusting. There are many enclosed cart designs why is this special like this?

Repair of cast iron enameled grates possible?

I didn't know they had plain cast iron. I'd classify stainless and plain cast iron as lifetime sets.

    Covers for Weber grills

Some of the Amazon reviews weren't so happy about the warranty. Good to know you can try if it doesn't perform.

    Cleaning up SS rod grates

Without industrial sand or bead blasting the cleanest I got was with overnight soak with degreaser and then a whole can of oven cleaner and it of wire scrubbing. Came out great but not new. Food also stuck less. No more high heat burn off for me. Did she kettle grate too

    My first Performer

As other had stated a stainless steel cooking grate is pretty much the only thing this grill could of came with to make it better. I've found that propane assist super handy. Almost never use my charcoal chimminy.

    My first Performer

It's a DD 2000 year. Craiglist ad said it was on the curb posted at 5am on a sunday.. When I rolled up at 6am the owner was coming out to check to see if it was still there since people had been calling him to check. He helped me load up to my car and let the other person know that it was gone...

    My first Performer

I always liked that color. If I ever found a donor bowl in that color or blue I'd transplant that to my old performer I found for free. I'm ashamed to say that today is the first time this season I'm using it.

Company I wish Weber stayed like (a knife company called Spyderco)

Weber set the gold standard of quality+value in the 80s and 90s. It's the reason there are so many enthusiasts of the brand. People who buy based on brand reputation may not notice any slight decrease in quality. So they can still get their high volume sales margins. They probably in future...

    What’s Up with Summits?

I used to think summit was same quality with more bells and whistles. Unfortunately it's only more bells and whistles and a dip in quality design. Hopefully they step up and make summits worth the premium in all areas.

Company I wish Weber stayed like (a knife company called Spyderco)

You got me beat on repeat buys. I do have 4 Manix models. Each one with either a different steel material, blade finish, scale material and slightly differentiating design (the two with textured handles are about half the weight). I sent my carbon fiber model in for warranty just last week. Its...

Company I wish Weber stayed like (a knife company called Spyderco)

I started with one of their China made Spiderco Ambitious but after a few years graduated to their USA and Taiwan offerings. i have around 10 now. Prior to buying a good knife sharpener I'd buy one, use until it was dull and then buy another. Now that I have gotten into knife sharpening i have...

Company I wish Weber stayed like (a knife company called Spyderco)

Mr. Michaels, while I like camping, 10 years ago I started carrying a knives in my pocket every day doing boring city stuff. Not a heavy oudooraman either, but like BBQs you start with 1, then you justify a 2nd for different use case, then another, then another, and another, and like many...

Company I wish Weber stayed like (a knife company called Spyderco)

A recent post about sharpening knives on this forum got me thinking about a company that reminded me of Weber of old when they were family owned. And maybe also what they could of been while moving towards a global operation. Spyderco knife brand is an American family owned business that...

Keep Probe Thermometers Clean To Prevent Foodborne Illness

I must be doing something wrong. Scolding hot water is usually the biggest extreme I'll go to for raw food contact.(and soap too of course)

    Knife sharpener

Sorry for not explaining better. Was having problems with mobile website. It kept deleting my post when I wanted to edit. Yes it's foreign, but in this case it's better than it's US counterpart in my opinion. I have an older version of this sharpener and can't believe the low price of entry of...
