    Newly restored Redhead

No I didn't even think to do that. Thanks for the suggestion! The regulator is brand new so I'm hoping it not the issue. I'll try cleaning those valves and see what difference makes.

Hoping to restore my 10 year old Weber Genesis Silver A

I had mine mdeia blasted which cleaned it all up to the white. I then hit it with a coat of 2000 Degree Primer and finished with a coat of 1200 Degree Hi Temp Paint. Probably overkill, but it didn't cost much.

    Newly restored Redhead

Just finished restoring a 1997 Redhead and had a question. I installed new Stainless Steel burners and the temp gets upwards of 700 degrees, however I noticed when I started cooking that there was a major hot spot in the left rear of the grilling area and the food cooked very slow on the right...

Kettle with QMaster Jr Auto Temp Controller

Wanted ribs today but knew I needed to leave the house for a few hours so I decided to set my kettle up with my Qmaster Junior Temp Controller. I set it for 225deg and cooked the ribs 3-2-1 style. They came out great so I'm happy the QMaster gave me the peace of mind to leave for a couple of...

    Which grates do I have?

Looks like non porcelain cast iron to me. The porcelain coated CI tends to be smoother in appearance and doesn't show as much texture as i see in that first picture. The porcelain coated steel grates are stamped steel and lightweight making them very easy to tell apart from the heavier Cast...

    Genesis 1100 restoration

Picked it up today and it's a 1996 Model. It was quite dirty as pictured but overall not in too bad a shape. Took it to the car wash and washed off all the external scuzz so I could get a good look at what was good and what needed replacing. Its gonna need shelving and I'm trying to decide...

    Genesis 1100 restoration

I'm in NC too....Charlotte! Perfect timing on the posting of this refurb. I'm picking up this red head later this week which I plan to restore. This will be my first restoration and my first experience with a Weber Gasser so I'm sure I'll have some questions like where's the best place to get...

    Boomerang Wings

Looking good! Thanks for the feedback on that marinade. I picked up some a couple of days ago and have been looking for feedback on it. I do a similar thing with my wings but I use a vortex which allows for easy indirect cooking and adding smoke ;)

    Ed Mitchell's Rib Recipe

There are two ways to cook ribs...low and slow or hot and fast. Both turn out good ribs but they are different in taste and texture. Many of my buddies do their ribs on the grill hot and fast while I prefer mine cooked low and slow. When you're cooking for a lot of people for say an outdoor...

    Golden Dog Controller

Tried it again last night hooked to my new UDS and it worked flawlessly. I was able to set temp and watch it bring the cooker up to temp then maintain. I did notice that removing the lid does case the things to swing as it tries to get temp back on track. I found that if you turn the unit off...

    Golden Dog Controller

Mine showed up earlier this week. I ordered it with an adapter for a UDS, however I crafted one to fit it to my 22.5" Weber Kettle using a Dog Bowl. Cooked some chicken drums tonight using it and it worked perfectly. Chicken came out great.
