    bbq guru cyberq II question

It does not work with a wireless USB because there's no firmware support for it or the TCP/IP stack. It's right in the manual: ----- From the manual ----- The CYBERQII’s USB interface is like that of a digital camera, in that it requires a PC to send and receive data. It cannot be directly...

Can't connect stoker using airport express

Mark is on the right track here. It would seem to be an issue with the airport express not connecting to the WiFi. Log into your Linksys and get all your security settings for WiFi (WEP/WPA,whatever) SSID, passcode etc. You'd probably save a lot of pain just sticking with Linksys gear. The...

    Airport Express/Stoker problems

Stan, Try plugging in the stoker to one of the routers hub jacks. That is - no wireless. Then see if you can ping it or get into the web server. -rob

    Remote Thermometer with internet access

So, you're far away from your smoker and can read the temps but can't do anything about it? I don't get it. You can certainly build your own by looking at the DIY thread but when it's finally built the cost of the materials and your time will greatly exceed the cost of a Stoker. I've coached...

    BBQ Guru Probe Problem

Use boiling water and set your probes to 212 degrees. Moisture near the input connector will screw with your temps. You should get a spare anyway because your probes WILL go bad at some point. I'm on my 3rd pair of Guru probes but I rarely use it now that I've got a Stoker. -rob

can not get to stoker off of network

Ed, Try telneting into the stoker to view it's default gateway. The command to view it is: ipconfig -x as described here: http://www.kaytat.com/stoker_telnet.html If you find that it's set to the same address as the other hosts on your network then the likely cause is that your ISP is...

can not get to stoker off of network

Mitch, Are you using DHCP? You can telnet into the stoker and find out it's default gateway and even set it if you need to: Stoker telnet commands

can not get to stoker off of network

Bob is right - you need to use DHCP. The reason why is that there is no way to set the default gateway using the static setup and thus the stoker does not know where to send the response. Using DHCP it will get the default gateway from the router's DHCP server. It's a flaw in the firmware...

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

Keith, I actually drilled a hole on the WSM for a new mount 1/2 inch above the grate. That way I can use the natural WSM vents if I'm forced to because of no power at an event. The gasket actually butts up against the copper coupler when fully inserted. I think for the most part it's function...

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

Mine Guru mount is about 1/2 above the grate with the outlet facing down. I figured it would light both the stuff on the grate and burn the fuel on top. Remember, you're looking for maximum combustion when mounting it. -rob

    Stoker with Guru Mount?

26f???? How about -10? Done that before! Just follow the link that Jim posted and you should be set. If you have any questions let me know. I do indeed compete with that very WSM pictured in that thread. It's used for ribs and chicken. In the off season I use it on the deck. For referece, the...

Kevin, Scroll through the menus - it's in there. Remember to save your probe calibration numbers before you do so OR recalibrate them like I did in my videos.

Gotta Say, I'm Impressed With My DigiQ DX

I will point out that the 2 most successful teams in New England use Wicked Good. That would be iQue (Winner of the Jack 2009) and I Smell Smoke who placed 3rd overall for KCBS team of the year 2009. That's good enough reason for me! It helps if you can find a nearby BBQ enthusiast who can...

Workaround when your ISP blocks port 80?

Excellent! I often find that sometimes just changing the settings on the Stoker doesn't work. For some settings, particularly IP stuff, you'll need to save to the database and cycle the power to get it to work. I racked my head against the wall figuring that out for the videos. It's nice to...

Workaround when your ISP blocks port 80?

The gateway address would be the IP address of your router on it's private interface. In most cases it's 192.168.1.1 but you can check this by going to a computer and typing IPCONFIG at the command prompt. All computers on your private network should have the same default gateway and subnet...
