    New stoker setup

well first off welcome! Your router (which I've never heard of) will need to do some pretty neat tricks in order for all of this to happen. Most of us that do this get a really cheap router off eBay and load custom software (DD-WRT) to do it. That said, we can take you through baby steps so that...

    Stoker and 22.5 wsm

The fan slips right out as the only pressure on it is the clip tension. To plug the hole you can either get a silicon plug from Guru or stuff some wrapped up foil in there. I have both but usually find foil around that I can recycle. 63 - you are killing me! I've been to Hopland, CA to visit...

    Stoker and 22.5 wsm

OK then. I managed to take some pics although its friggin cold up here with wind blowing and I'm still seeing ice on my deck!! Here is a shot of the mounted GURU adapter. The hole I drilled was just under 1 inch. If you buy the adapter from Guru it has instructions as to what hole to drill...

    Stoker and 22.5 wsm

the bolt pattern is not used. You just stick the fan into the coupler the clip on the outside keeps it snug against the silicon doughnut. Real simple. I have both a 5 and 10 cfm fan but honestly a 10 CFM fan is too much blower for a WSM - even a 22 inch one. I've experimented with one on my...

    Stoker and 22.5 wsm

The hole is drilled through the weber with a hole saw. The guru mount is actually 2 parts - the deflector on the left and the fan mount on the right. They screw together. To mount it on the WSM you drill a NEW air vent hole, unscrew the deflector and put the deflector in the smoker. Then on the...

    Stoker and 22.5 wsm

Another less ugly option is getting a GURU WSM mount and drilling a whole specifically for it. Then all you have to do is this (courtesy Jim B): close all your vents and your good. Looks much better then the dog dish and probably costs the same. -rob

    Stoker fan problem

OK. You have a bad fan and or jack. There's a small circuit inside the 1/4 inch jack. Unscrew the jack and inspect this circuit. Look for broken solder joints or any mechanical issues (stress fractures - etc..) It could be that something is shorting out against the plug. Try plugging the 1/8...

    Stoker fan problem

some questions: So both fans work properly when plugged in just by themselves? You are able to see their ID's on the user interface? They are Stoker fans from Rock's right? You would be doing this to control 2 different pits right? -rob

    Stoker battery power...

thanks Alec. I'm going to order one as well. Maybe 2 to have one on hand. My only concern would be how the device fails. If it shorts would it supply 12 VDC to the stoker??? -rob

Alec, Where are you getting this from? -rob

    Stoker battery power...

Amir, I've thought about doing the same thing. Maybe a project this weekend. Seems simple enough. -rob

    ATC

Both units have problems in colder weather. I own a stoker and a competitor. It really depends on how you are monitoring it. Both units will give you the temp reading on the user interface. The Guru IU is easier to understand on the unit than the Stoker but the stoker when properly configured...

just when i thought i had my mind made up on a stoker or digiQ2

More news on the CyberQII. This is a quote from someone who saw a demo of the CyberQII at the factory: The usb connection needs to be tethered to a computer. The promise of remote control over the internet depends on pc remote control software such as pcAnywhere or gotomypc. That way, the...

thermocouple type used in temp probes ?

Here is a thread that may help you: http://tvwbb.infopop.cc/eve/fo...0072103/m/4010099875 I think your PID dictates your thermocouple though. -rob

Simple Cheap ATS Final cicuit design & component list

I've edited the head of the post. All I added was a power on switch and an LED to it for the most part. When it get warmer out (in Vermont) I'll do some charting on it. -rob

Can I get some help here...

The last cook I did was 3 weeks ago on my WSM. I'm in VT and the weather was maybe in the 30's. I did a chuck roast @ 225 for 4 hrs - no problem. Maybe you could try a mix of lump and K. You should be able to find Wicked Good Charcoal in NH. Also, instead of blue K try using the new...

    Finally took the plunge!

I have also heard that the solder joints on these units are not the best. Do the following: 1 - Make sure that the output from the power supply is giving you 12 volts DC on the input. 2 - Open the unit and check the soldering of the DC input and the temp/fan control. The tracks may have been...

    Finally took the plunge!

Tony, If you can open up the unit and let it dry out for a few days it might come back. I had a Guru competitor get rained on and it came back after a week of air drying. -rob

    Finally took the plunge!

You get a chimney started and burnt down then add it to your cooker. Dump on some more fuel and flavor wood then set your temp. Some people add the lit coals furthest from the blower input and some add it to an unlidded coffee can in the center. From then on you can monitor it how you wish but...

Stoker - Wireless communication without Internet

When troubleshooting I would make sure you can connect to the WGA first which looks like you can. Make sure all IP addresses on STOKERNET are unique. I don't know why the stoker is reverting back to 255.255.255.255 but that is your problem I think.
