    I found my Platinum C!

I tried another cheap set on a e320 I just flipped. The holes in the burner tubes for the cross over were too large and the crossover tube to narrow. A lot of gas escaped where the first burner met the cross over. It wouldn't light all the way up to the next burner so lighting the middle and...

    I found my Platinum C!

For a keeper, I'd pony up for the Weber burners or the qulimetal burners. It seems like qulimetal makes a better product than most of the cheaper brands. I prefer OEM burners because it's the heart of the grill where the flavor bars and grates can be an improvement over OEM. I don't know how...

I've considered the sand blasting thing. I noticed a shop near me that does sand blasting and powder coating today actually. I might have to give them a call. I think the most annoying part of this hobby is cleaning the cook box and end caps for sure

I get concerned about investing in new internals because there are tons of grills for sale. Especially in the Lowell area by a guy that gives them a hose down and a coat of spray paint inside and out and get listed as completely refurbished. He certainly sold several of the e3xx style grills but...

Thanks for the feedback. The prices of Amazon parts are certainly getting more expensive. I figure new flavor bars, grates and an ignitor are pushing $100. Add in a decent set of non OEM tubes and it adds up quick. I just don't see getting $300 or more for a silver or x000 style grill. I barely...

I have a couple questions for you more experienced flippers, how do you determine the price of your grills you flip? Do certain colors/features sell better than others? I have enough equipment to do 3 full silver grills Currently I have a silver C and a couple standard silvers with older lids...

Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

The grates you linked last will not fit, those are for the older grills and the spirit Exxx grills. the first grates you linked would work, you could get the 7mm grates to cut the cost down to $85. I have 7mm grates in my grill and am happy with them, i know the thicker 9mm grates are desired...

    Genesis Gold Question?

Yes, a x000 series or silver series lids will fit on the cookboxes, as long as they are 3 burner.

Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

For reference if you have a tractor supply near you they sell paint that is nearly a perfect match for the paint on your floor pan. Massey Ferguson grey. As mentioned before. They used to sell it in rustoleum farm and implement paint but now it's some third party brand I have no comment on how...

I believe the story on that particular Genesis II. It was left with the home and the new home owner was giving it away along with a bunch of other stuff if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the insight on the new grill. I've been picking up webers for a few years now. It started with a blue lid with "AFF" logo Genesis platinum 3000 I think? I've since used that lid on a grill I refurbished as a present for my dad. I think I have 3 or 4 green in lids and a couple red...

Thanks for the info. It's pending anyways. I did miss a free Genesis II with the open cart. It being a newer model I would think it would have been a great flip.

No. I don't care that much. My intention has always been to put a colored lid on it, replace the tables with thermostat and get a black control panel. I got the donor grill earlier this year to do all that but haven't gotten around to doing so. I'll also eventually convert it to an open cart...

I picked up an 04/05 with the stainless frame a couple of years ago, drove 90 minutes to get it for $200. It had been assembled and never used. Burners, flavorizer bars, grates and cook box interior were still brand new. Unfortunately it had been stored outside. The tables are in tough shape...
