New source for grates and flavorizors

That would be nice! I wish they made a set of flavorizer bars for the 1000 as well...

Genesis Redhead 1100 "Diamondplate Edition" Restoration

I too, think I will be losing the grey wood, and probably losing the durawood on the 1000LX as well. Thinking a nice light stain on the Greenhead and a nice dark redwood stain on the Redhead.

Genesis Redhead 1100 "Diamondplate Edition" Restoration

My Greenhead 1000 LX from 1997 (I believe the tag says 12/97) has the durawood. My Red 1000 has the stained grey wood, but I don't have the information on when it was made as the tag has been sun-bleached.

    Source for drip pan holders

Man, I've had one of these in my cart since Tuesday and was going to buy it today... was waiting on my wife to decide about some other items she wanted. The Bruce effect!

Me too. I like that one.

    My New Genesis 1000 Redhead

There are, and there's the guy who is out there (maybe even in Billerica?) who collects these things for parts - I think it was Bill who visited him? Regardless, there will always be action in MA for those freebies and cheap grills. He'll be moving in a couple of days and wanted it gone, so...

Genesis Redhead 1100 "Diamondplate Edition" Restoration

Welcome to the forums, Joel! Looks like a great project you have there - I have just obtained my own 1100 Redhead and it, too, needs a new control panel due to someone drilling a newer igniter hole in it. Several mentioned that they might have one for me and I was lucky enough to find a member...

    Cleaning SS grates

I know the shape doesn't match, but I still want to try it. Obviously a "V" shaped tool would probably work better for cast iron grates.

    What grill brush

When I get to the Cape next I am going to bring it home and really try it out and will report back.

    What grill brush

I bought this one for my Cape Silver B and have been impressed with it although I have not used it much so far: https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0773J5758/tvwb-20 It was cheap and has worked well on my wide, stamped stainless grates on my Silver B so far. The way it is designed ensures...

    My New Genesis 1000 Redhead

Looks good to me, JKim - PM sent to you - thanks! Nice to have a network of Weber guys in MA!

    Cleaning SS grates

I'm getting one regardless, but I'm interested to see how it works on cast iron grates, as the cast iron grates on my Silver A are in really great shape and don't need to be replaced, just cleaned up a bit from the last month of use by me.

    Cleaning SS grates

I appreciate the bump of this thread, Bruce. I was just thinking to myself the other day that I would like to get one of these Chargons for my new rod grates and was trying to remember where I had seen them mentioned on here.

    Rusty Grates, advice needed

    Great work, Dave!

    Cleaning the WeberQ Grates

BFletcher - this is very similar to the brush I have, which is also a Char-Broil. I liked the way it worked on the Q.

Just when I thought I was through they pull me back in

I'd just make her a $50 offer and see if she takes it.

rare find but too rich for my blood

I just couldn't justify spending the money on it based on how cheap it is to get another one and restore it versus this new cost, but I must admit I am curious to see it. I hope someone from here picks it up and posts photos!

    My New Genesis 1000 Redhead

Thanks, Jeff. That is where it came from, Billerica. I probably wouldn't have purchased it, but $30 is just such a good deal on a relatively clean Redhead, I couldn't pass it up. I will put some sort of plug in the hole if JKim doesn't have one. Thanks for the parts compatibility and the...

    My New Genesis 1000 Redhead

Thanks Rich! Two 1000s in 3 days is a lot, probably not a record, but a lot for a guy who only owned 1 Weber 2 months ago... JKim, that would be wonderful and much appreciated! You don't happen to have any other shelves hanging around so I can complete the "JKim" RH shelf mod on this one, do...
