PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Yeah, that's one of the things I need to fix. For now, just uncheck any alarms you have set.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Well I found a lot of conflicting information on how the Play store betas actually work, but I thought you might just be able to go to the listing on your phone. If that's not working though, try going to this link first. You may have to do that to enable it...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Hey guys, I've been doing some work on PitDroid off and on over the last few months, and I got it to the point where I figured I would put up a beta for people to mess around with. It's still got some ugly spots to clean up (big ugly buttons to access the old pages for one), but it seems stable...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Yeah, I haven't looked into Android Wear support yet, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. I'm just so busy lately, but if I find some time I'll dig in there. As always, any other programmers out there feel free to submit a pull request with any changes like this if you want it...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

I actually recently returned from Windows Phone to Android, and picked up a new Moto 360 to go with my LG V10. When I get around to doing some work on the app I'll look into what's involved in getting stuff working on the watch too.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Thanks for digging in and getting the info on that one. I borrowed a Galaxy S6 from work and did some testing, and I got it looking good on both that and my ancient Android devices. I pushed a new release to Play with the fix, should be up soon.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

I uploaded a new version to the Play store, it should show up in the next hour or so. See the first post for the changes. Please let me know if you run into any issues.

    PitDroid 2.0

Hmm, I don't see any problems David, maybe you need to get your eyesight checked? Seriously though, if you check the Git repository I've checked in all my changes, you can try compiling it and seeing if you can figure out what's going on. It's been updated for Android Studio and should just...

    PitDroid 2.0

Oh, and as for the question of if anyone is still using PitDroid, according to the Play Store stats if I had a dollar for everyone currently using it I'd have $749! Lucky for you guys I give it away for free, just like the HeaterMeter software. (Bryan is the best.)

    PitDroid 2.0

I don't really get the deal with people wanting an "update", but then not actually having any reason for it. Personally I find it annoying when apps update themselves all the time. If it works, leave it alone! That said, I am updating PitDroid, and I did notice at least one bug, with the...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Hey guys, sorry, I didn't see any of the thread replies in a while since I must not have logged in, so it stopped sending me emails for them. A user has made some updates that should address issues on some phones, and I'll integrate that in and push out a new build. First I need to set up the...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Yup, like Steve said I licensed it so you can do whatever you want with it, including making your own personal changes, sharing changes with me, or forking it and charging money for your version (good luck!). If you've got an improvement feel free to submit a pull request on Github and I'll see...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Hey Mike, I am still maintaining the app, in the sense that I'll fix it if it breaks, but I'm not really doing any active development right now. I actually don't even use an Android phone any more, I switched to Windows, so I have to pull out an old one to do any development. I did have the...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Well, unless you're in Austin you're out of luck for buying me a beverage. No problem though, the thanks are enough!

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Ok, I just uploaded the latest version to the Play store. I can't find my Android 4.x phone (I actually switched to Windows Phone for my daily driver), so I only tested this on an old 2.x one. It worked there, so hopefully there won't be any 4.x issues. It includes all the fixes and tweaks...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Well, according to the play store stats, about 13% of PitDroid users are still on 2.x. Not a ton, but I would hate to exclude them for something silly like this. I might just look around for a 3rd party alternative to the gridlayout too, I saw something that might work when I was hunting...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Ok, I need help. I have wasted sooo much time on "Dalvik error 1" while trying to compile final releases and I just can't take it any more. It's related to the gridlayout compatibility library that I use to support Android 2.2. When I compile the signed package for uploading to the Play store...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Hey guys, I lost track of the thread because I didn't log in to check one of the updates, then it stopped emailing me until I logged in again. Anyway, Uipko has sent me his patches and I'll try to get a point release rolled out this weekend with his fixes.

    Feature request? drop back temperature

I can totally sympathize with Bryan on being wary of adding new features because of the work to integrate them well. I have spent WAAAY more time on PitDroid tweaking the UI than actually getting the internals working. I had the admin stuff done in an hour or two, but I spent at least a full...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

I was home sick again yesterday, so I did some more work and got admin support in. Now you can change the pit set temp. Also, I added an explicit exit button. If you've got alarms set it'll prompt you to make sure you really want to exit. It will hopefully eliminate the rare case where the...
