HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

It's an exciting technology! And an increasing number of people are turning into amateur mechanical engineers and artists because of it. Couple that with the resurgence of the "Maker" culture and we may be seeing the beginning of a fundamental culture shift away from mindless consumerism...

Yep. That would fit the bill.

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

There are Prism 1.5 kits? I've seen the Prism X. Maybe MendelMax 1.5 kits? Anything more than $1000 is too much IMHO. To be honest I haven't considered total cost yet. Let me run some numbers and get you and others a ballpark figure. I really, really hate seeing people get ripped off when...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

There are so many holes. I'm not sure that a waterproof enclosure is even possible. Weather-resistant maybe. It really depends on the orientation of the box, unless you've got special ports to pass the wiring through. Couple that with the fact that 3D printed parts are not 100% solid...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

I print everything in ABS any more. PLA is a bit too stiff for most useful things, especially things that need to be re-worked after printing. PLA would be nice in that you can make parts that are semi-transparent. And it's a bio-plastic which makes environmental sense. But for this...

Here ya go! So now I need to print one to see if it'll work...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Unfortunately that type of joint is practically impossible on an FDM machine at the scales we're using. If the joint was larger we could certainly do it, but at scale if we were to print that on a reprap it would fail due to the inherent weakness of the plastic for such a small joint. :( The...

autodesk 123D http://www.123dapp.com/123dbeta9 https://github.com/akhlut/Proto/tree/master/HeaterMeter :) The biggest issue is that there is nowhere to go if you want to keep all of the ports accessible. But if you're willing to sacrifice access to the HDMI port it would be possible. The...

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

Its a little daughter board that works of a main board to drive the damper and temp probes. I'm trying to make it 100% compatible with the current HM code base.

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

Well, I haven't mounted it yet but I'm using the dog-bowl method on a Smokey Joe setup. Actually printing this off right now. :) Setup is for a servo and the standard fan. I know that this isn't supported in the HM4 electronics package yet.

    UDOO board

This might be a bit much for the heatermeter, but this looks like a pretty serious piece of hardware. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/435742530/udoo-android-linux-arduino-in-a-tiny-single-board

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Dave, The standoffs inside the case that support the LCD have holes for the fastening hardware. Each case is made to the spec for each display. That case is for a Varitronix MDLS-20464B 20x4 display. I've made a case that will fit most of the newhaven 98x60mm 4x20 displays as well. But just...

    Raspberry Pi version A?

Hello everyone! I stumbled on this article in my Twitter feed. The version A board apparently consumes 1/3 the power of the version B. This would be quite a nice improvement for smoking in a low-power situation, when it's finally available. :)

3D printer at work? What kind of printer is it? Just go grab the files from github and print one up! There are several iterations of the case now (I'm sure Tom has some too).
