netfabb can be a lifesaver. I just wish their pro software was a little cheaper.

Super. Sweet. You should post that in a steampunk forum...

Damaged HeaterMeter Help - Which components are bad?

I can't zoom into the pic, but that shift register shouldn't look like that. Do you have a spare on-hand? if so, just use some flush-cuts to nip off the legs and replace it.

Damaged HeaterMeter Help - Which components are bad?

Pics? Bare HM or with rPI? Could you log into it? Maybe the fall broke a cold solder joint, but that should be easy to fix. Did you get the rPI to boot with it unplugged? Multi-pin parts like the shift register are a real pain to desolder. You're better off cutting the legs of the IC...

Cost. Xstepper can be built for less than $50, less than $40 if you eliminate some of the unnecessary components. In the end it may be the cheapest solution for driving a hobby mill. I think the biggest difference is that grbl supports arcs, whereas marlin doesn't. Marlin is just too much...

https://github.com/akhlut/PrismMendel_1.5 Like I said, this is a year old at this point. There are so many changes to the machine at this point - nothing major, but part tweaks and multiple versions of a single part for different situations/components. That and the whole thing is drawn in...

Nah. No kit. I doubt I'd ever offer it. However, it's freely available on my github. There are a lot of new parts that I need to publish as well. I really need to get on that.

I just sent a batch of hall sensor boards off to fab. Should have about 30 of them lying around in a couple of weeks. These can be hand-soldered pretty easily, or even easier with a stencil and hotplate. http://i.imgur.com/JTZ6ygw.png

I think the biggest problem deltaprintr faces are the extrusions and the wooden frame. Notice they don't have it going very quickly in their demo video. If they sped it up I would think that it would shake itself apart. D: There are much better machines out there. And don't worry about...

How much did they charge you for the resin? It looks really interesting. Any idea why it didn't stick? Maybe the coating was too thin and didn't uniformly cover the AL? Or, does the AL need to be roughed-up to accept the coating? I wonder if spin-coating a plate with multiple layers of...

I looked into it as well. I could have sworn that it said on the website that IF is a parametric modeler. Turns out that it's not - just a direct modeler like 123D. :( Even with that downside I'm happy with Inventor Fusion - faster than 123D, and some great options. I'm still getting used...

I actually backed the peachy printer. :D If you watch the videos they're making great progress with their machine. However, at this point I'm not sure the peachy will be able to scale up enough to print a HM case or anything that is fairly large. I could be wrong though. True DLP printers...

What about adding a recirculating fan inside the smoker to even out the temperatures? Maybe a convection oven fan? http://www.ebay.com/itm/KENMORE-ELITE-36363672201-Convection-Oven-36363672201-Fan-motor-Replacement-/141055229441

Yeah, I've decided to finally make the move as well. I'm a bit frustrated by continually having to choose 'New Component' after drawing anything, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Maybe I should RTFM. And it seems to be less crash-happy than 123Db9, which is nice. I got a part designed...
