Happy New Year Everyone - On the grill for New Years Day

Had some friends over and grilled 2 bacon wrapped pork tenderloins tonight on the Silver B. The pouring rain didn't stop me. I'm finding the east-west burners work very nicely for this compared to my old non-Weber grill with north-south burners. Happy New Year to all!

I will just leave this here

Anyone in the Michigan area up for a minor restoration project? https://lansing.craigslist.org/app/d/sunbeam-gas-grill/6757314199.html

    Flipping has hopefully begun!

Did the buyer really offer you $1 less?

    It's raining Skylines!

I think the other big reason people go propane is that they don't have the required natural gas connection outside. Most would never consider getting it added either (heck, I'll bet a large percentage of people don't even know it's an option). I'm just now considering adding a gas outlet on my...

    It's raining Skylines!

There's a 2 burner Skyline in your area that I noticed a few days ago. https://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/for/d/weber-natural-gas-grill/6702907940.html Not exactly a steal at $100, but it looks to be in decent shape. It's an NG model though.

Newbie to Webers - old Gold-c questions

I'm new to using a Weber gas grill as of this summer. Prior to that I assumed Webers were just overpriced compared to other options and that you were primarily paying for the name plate. At this point though I'm becoming a convert, at least for the older models (the jury is still out on the...

    Bruce, your competition LOL

The listing that started this thread gets reposted about once a week, dropping $5 each time. Down to $160 now. There's quite a few 3 burner models available right now for $100 or so - hard to see anyone paying that much for a 2 burner model at this time of year...

Happy Labor Day- What are you grilling?

I finally got around to doing some steaks on my refurbed Genesis since the in-laws came over for dinner. I couldn't believe how much better the Genesis did on the steaks compared to my older non Weber grills.

    Genesis Silver ?

Also, the first page of the manual also says "Specialty Dealer LP". I wonder if having a specialty dealer model is a way to justify a higher price compared to big box stores, and maybe to prevent price matching too.

    Genesis Silver ?

When I look up my serial number on the Weber site, the description comes up as "Genesis Silver B LP Premium (2002)", so that looks like the correct name to me.

    Genesis Silver ?

Mine says model #2250000, part # 2281398 on the sticker. I've seen some comments (in threads here I believe) that said this was a special model for certain retailers (I think one post I saw said it was from Target?). They seem to be quite common near me anyway, and almost all of them have the...

Genesis Silver B Restoration - From Japan to Texas

I like the look of that... what brand of paint is it and where did you get it?

What Model Red Head Is This?

Looks like one of the early ones is available in SW Michigan: https://southbend.craigslist.org/hsh/d/vintage-red-weber-gas-grill/6660902913.html I'm not very good yet on pinpointing years, but I believe the wide slats and black knobs make it pretty old right?

Orange flames - 1 month old Weber Spirit 210

Is your propane tank running out? The flames tend to get more orange as the tank runs out (for me anyway).

    Bruce, your competition LOL

I've seen that one pop up several times this summer at the same price, so I don't think it's accidental. It's hard to imagine someone really believing a 15 year old grill would be worth that much. Maybe he knows it's high but he's just waiting for an underinformed buyer to come along.

    Bruce, your competition LOL

Maybe Bruce isn't charging enough... https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/for/d/weber-natural-gas-grill/6671994870.html

    Bruce, your competition LOL

There seems to be at least a half dozen or so flippers in the Chicago area - none that appear to be Bruce's quality of course. They're selling grills that have been cleaned up nicely (on the exterior at least), but they don't look like "restorations" as such. However, they seem to price them at...

First time grinding my own burgers

Like many, I love burgers, but I was always a bit underwhelmed with my efforts at home. I never seemed to be able to get close to the really good burgers that you can get in some restaurants. Just about everything I've ever heard or read about making better burgers starts with "grind your own...

    Amazon/Uniflasy grate fit?

OK, I did some measuring. My Uniflasy grates are 17 1/4" (maybe a hair less). The original grates are close to the same (a hair longer than 17 1/4"). My grill could comfortably fit grates that were up to 17 5/8" long, and the center of the cookbox is a bit less than 1/8" wider at the center than...

    Amazon/Uniflasy grate fit?

In my case at least the front and back edges of the cookbox are perfectly straight, so I don't think that's the issue. None of the previous grills I've owned (non-Weber) had that much slop so I guess I'm just surprised. Granted, the heavier grates (cast iron or maybe the RCP stainless) probably...
