First cook w/ servo mounted to Weber kettle

No, Dinner time ;-) You can manage up to 16h with a minion ring. For the ribs I only laid out half of the ring and there where some unburned briquetes left over.

http://reppeuk.privatedns.org:8083/ Started two Boston butts (actually the cut is collar) to run overnight, both ~2,5kg w/ my servo only weber kettle (http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?61934-First-cook-w-servo-mounted-to-Weber-kettle&p=685531&viewfull=1#post685531) and a minion ring. First cook w/ servo mounted to Weber kettle

Yesterday I did the first cook w/ HM controlling the vent of a weber kettle using a servo only (6h ribs at ~110°C). Here is the graph (we use °C and 24h time format in Europe :-) : I prepared the kettle with a minion ring. PID settings were: P = 15, I = 0, D = 0. @11:15 put the ribs on the...

    pcb screening labeled wrong?

I guess you have to use the sheet of paper with the little pictures of the resistors Bryan did send with the PCB. You have to look at the colors of the rings and to decode the value of the resistor, not at the color of the resistor itself.

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

Servo attached to weber kettle It's not a blower attached to a smoker but a servo attached to a 22" weber kettle. I used parts of the construction kit of the kids to attach a quarter sized servo (which is no longer buzzing and chattering - thank's Bryan) to my weber kettle: The connection of...

    Servo always buzzing

I bought a new quarter sized servo (Modelcraft VS11-AMP), which is a analogue type servo. I have the same buzzing, as with the digital Dymond servo, even a little bit stronger. I understood, that it not should be an issue regarding operation and lifetime of the servo, but I agree with Dan, that...

    Thermocouple problem

Peter, I just resoldered the AD8495 by applying some heat w/o additional solder - that was it. Thanks!

    Thermocouple problem

Hi all. I built the HM 4.2.4 without thermocouple support and afterwards decided to switch to thermocouple support. So I got the parts (thanks Peter F), desoldered R18 and the pit jack and soldered the TC parts. I did the testing for shorts and connections which was ok. I applied power and...

    Servo always buzzing

Thanks for the replies! _the servo is standard sized and I did try it in a test setup with a servo tester and it was capable of moving the vent, I may post some pics, once it is installed at the kettle again _the servo did not chatter when used with the servo tester _while testing with the HM...

    Servo always buzzing

Just finished building my first HM 4.2.4 and also encounter the buzzing/ chatter of the servo. The frequency is about once per second. This happens, even if I set min and max to the neutral position (1500). I am using a DYMOND DS 5100 MG digital Servo (I intend to not use a blower, just the...
