    New start up issues

Have you adjusted the contrast pot?

    Finished, but no display

My rpi has the red light on and the green light flickers while the OS loads, is that what you mean or is the green light flashing on and off at a steady rate and doesn't stop flashing? Have you tried getting into the the web interface via the ethernet port?

    Finished, but no display

Ah, that's it. Before the heatermeter will function, you need to flash the firmware onto it. Goto the Linkmeter tab, then AVR Firmware, then Online repository and pick which one you want, probably snapshots/trunk/heatermeter.hex

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Make sure the cables are good and do you have access to a crossover ethernet cable? If so, you could try going direct from the laptop to the rpi.

Did you flash the AVR firmware in the web interface yet?

Alternate parts and sources (for RPi and Heatermeter 4.0)

FYI, I never use the header socket, I just use 2 single row headers to save a few bucks.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

I get a FC on galaxy S3. I did a force stop and cleared data with the same result. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. App starts then goes black, then the application has stopped message.

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Dave, not sure if this picture shows it well enough but I used a 90 header on the heatermeter and folded a ribbon cable under the display. It holds the display into the opening perfectly.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Hey Dave, do you know how the ET-73 probes do with the 22k resistors?

Thanks for another great case Matt!

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

What temperature did you test them? Room temperature? If so, the 732 probes do the same thing for me. In my experience however, the hotter they get, the more reliable the reading. FYI, I am using the 10k resistors, if you want to increase the low temperature accuracy of the 732 probes, you...

What is you're existing router's IP address and what is your PC's address?

How many Heatermeter/Raspi built so far

No problem, works just fine just be sure when you plug in the Atmel that the notch lines up with the notch on the board, not the socket.

    Raspberry Pi version A?

Bryan, above you say that the A model is faster, given that the base hardware is the same, could this be due to not having to drivers loaded for the ethernet? What would you attribute this to?

    Raspberry Pi version A?

Good question Dave, I was wondering the same thing.

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Actually it worked out perfectly and simple! i was going to tap some holes in the standoffs and put in screws but i didn't have to. The ribbon cable i used was an old ATA that i cut off the long run on(leaving only 2 connectors about 4 or 5 inches apart). The ribbon cable folded over under...

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Colin, I had one snafu with the alarm this weekend, but not 100% sure if i know what caused it. I tested alarms early for upper limit and they worked fine. I set an upper limit on a probe at 195 and got the pitdroid icon on the notification bar. Over the next 15 hours, while it cooked, i...
