HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Most common issue is putting the LAN and WWAN interfaces on the same subnet. Did you leave the LAN interface on the 192.168.200.1 address?

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Did it go in easily? It might be possible to solder it in upside down, er, well i mean rotated 180 degrees.

    Suitable alternative resistor

Hey, you should be able to source those at radio shack locally. And yes, 390 ohm thru-hole are a must but you can probably get a different tolerance and/or wattage. You can try this one.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

Ok, a possible workaround would be to put the vishay into a 2.5mm mono plug sticking out of the open end. I'd think they would give better values as well as the temp in the case would be skewed by the heat generated by the board. I'll keep looking, I have some jacks I've been using that came...

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

How about this one? There is also one with a metal ring but it's a good bit more.

HeaterMeter v4.0 for RaspberyPi / Standalone

If i could make a suggestion, at the next board revision, maybe we could use probe jacks with end stops in them. Or maybe something could be 3d printed to add an end stop to the existing. I believe i spoke to someone on this board at some point about 3D printing end caps for the probe plugs...

We need to put this into an FAQ as a sticky.

Ok, I'll take it for a buddy of mine. No need for the display as i have several extras. Is this one set up for the round button?

    LinkMeter v8 Release

The new 20130604B version works just fine. Thanks Bryan! On another note, are the old linkmeters still supported with v8? Got a few i built for friends that I should probably update.

    The Development Log

Ok, thanks Bryan, I think an any alarm option would be very useful as i routinely use all 4 probes.

Maybe I should shut up and play with it some more :) I have no idea what the 'any alarm' function is, I don't see it in the list. Sorry if I'm being dense. Also, wouldn't trigger if the pit probe went out of bounds as well? Guess either way, a red light makes sense......

    LinkMeter v8 Release

No, thank you for all your work Bryan. It appears to do it in any mode and only at AVR startup. Once it's cleared, no more issues.

    The Development Log

I was just thinking it would be nice to have the red led come on if any of the food probes went over threshold or if pit went above or below threshold. All involving multiple triggers.

Bryan, I like the LED controls. If i could make a new feature suggestion, would it be possible to have the list of all the triggers for each LED with multiple select capability?

    LinkMeter v8 Release

I'm having a couple issues with the new AVR firmware and the 4 line display. After rebooting the AVR, there are some extra characters at the right on the bottom 2 rows that appear to be remnants of the pit status line. If I navigate into the menu with the button and return, it clears them...

Bryan, ditto to the warped SD here. My rpi has bent 2 SD cards to where they no longer function in the rpi but still do in a usb reader.
