Guess I was too hasty, I took it back the next day. How did it work for you? I can still get 4 to 5 racks using both grates and having the ribs lay flat. This seems to work better than any rib rack I've tried already, so may be its time to give up the quest.

my motor works fine, the spit is pretty long compared to the spit you can order with the CB ring, but it should still work.

It looks very nice. I'm working on something similar to what you have, but with two older Weber gas bbq frames. Kind of like a double kettle performer, but with out the gas assist.
