    Advice/tips for a large (22 lb.) turkey?

Just wanted to give an update. Started the turkey in the smoker the night before Thanksgiving. Used about three chunks of genuine southern cherrywood from Alabama. Let it roll at 250-275 for about four and a half hours (knew the skin wouldn't be crispy) and put it in a roaster with red wine...

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

@James ~~ LMAO! That is something I would do, honestly. When I put together my WSM back in June, I had the middle section upside down and had to redo it. Sometimes I'm surprised by how I'm even able to dress myself some days. :p @Walker ~~ Awesome! I'm glad things worked out! Enjoy! I'm three...

    Advice/tips for a large (22 lb.) turkey?

I appreciate the feedback. Guess I'll finish mine in the oven. Everyone is freaking out about the bird being so big and turning 'into jerky' on the smoker. I was just going to see if I could get it done properly and crisp the skin. Oh well.

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

@Jon and Walter -- I hate that you guys received damaged kettles. Man, I was really hoping that everyone here would report good news with theirs, since the WKF group on Facebook is pretty vocal about them. I hope you'll receive pristine ones. Jon, I hope you tried talking to a different Weber...

    Where did everybody go?

I love this forum and the people that frequent it based on how laid back everyone seems to be. I can't say the same thing about the folks on the "Fans of the Weber Smokey Mountain" and "Weber Kettle Fans" Facebook pages. Seems like the biggest trolls/angry, insecure individuals come out the...

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

Thank you, Bob! I just can't believe how relentless the "Weber Kettle Fans" group on Facebook is. Complete and total backlash against this redhead. Apparently there's some defective redheads out there, but I can't complain. I may have noticed a couple of teeny tiny marks up close on mine, but I...

Anyone else not really care that much for turkey?

I like it, but I'm not a huge fan. I love leftover turkey? Why? Because this... ~ Take a cast iron skillet and heat it up over medium high heat ~ Add bacon grease or refined coconut oil ~ Add strips/chunks of leftover turkey ~ Season it with your favorite spices (I love Reload Rub "Fully...

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

My baby Roxanne came in today, guys! My first ever Weber kettle grill. I've been wanting one for a long time, and glad I made the choice on this one! It's gotten much of a bad rap on the "weber kettle fans" group on Facebook, but mine is beautiful and I can't wait to use it tomorrow! I'm going...

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

Thanks, Bruce. I'll definitely post my thoughts -- whether good or bad! -- a few days later. I'm cooking for a decent amount of people, so we'll see how it goes. Thinking about just sticking the lines/probes through the grommet. Any advice/issues on that in regards to avoiding the grommet...

    Advice/tips for a large (22 lb.) turkey?

Thank you so much for replying and telling about your experience, James! Much appreciated! How much did you fill up the charcoal ring? How many lit coals did you start? I've only done a hot and fast smoke once (success, but it was a very short cook with wings).

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

My Smoke came in yesterday! Can't wait to put it to the test next week on the behemoth 22.59 lb. turkey! I've already hinted to my girlfriend that the Smoke Gateway would be a pretty cool Christmas gift. :p

Limited Edition Weber Original Kettle Premium 22" in RED!! Order by May 12!

Tempted.... my 22.5" WSM is the only Weber cooking 'station' that I own. No kettle. My grill isn't a Weber. I am super tempted to get this red beauty as my first Weber kettle... I don't have a clear cut favorite color, but I love red. My car is red and so is my laptop. Man, I am so tempted! Any...

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

Bruce, I can't wait! I've done 10 cooks with my WSM since June (when I got it) with no gadgets whatsoever, only going by the dome temp. I've cooked up some amazing food despite going by what it says, but I'm curious to see just how inaccurate the temp is for me.

Thanks, J. I know it was an ignorant question, but again, I'm just a newbie to these digital therms.

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

The Smoke is on sale for $84 today. Think I'm gonna pull the trigger and get one! Will help out a bunch on Thanksgiving Day. Stupid question alert, and if it's been covered already I'm sorry: Do I need to stick the cord/line through the grommet on the WSM or can I just have them under the lid...

How many hours would you say with this big ol' turkey? Edit: 325 for 4 hours? Apologies for being redundant!
