Debate: 13 Bar Genesis vs Summit 400 Series

I never used a S470. Never needed to because the cooking performance with my 36-37 year old Genesis grills are exactly the same as when they were new, and they cook superbly. I wonder what the cooking performance on a S470 will be like when those things are that old. I doubt their cooking...

    Missing part

The one I marked is just like the others. I just straightened the end in a vice.

    Missing part

I just learned that there were different sized tool holders. I marked the one on the lower right where it could be cut and a hole drilled and it would serve the purpose. Gerry

    Missing part

That is the “support rod holder” No part number given in the owners manual. I think one of the tool holders might work if you straighten out the last two bends and drill a hole… Gerry

Happy 4th Share your favorite Grill or Grills

The one on the left was my dad’s, purchased new in ‘87. The other one was saved from the trash around 2007, but it is even older. Gerry

I will just leave this here

I have a maroon lid that I picked up from @LMichaels last year. I wanted it because I have two redheads on the deck and I wanted to maybe have some difference in lids. I haven't used it because I was going to do a refresh on my grills, but that is getting deferred until I get done with a...

    Screw size

Odd. I wonder if your valve differs from the valve I posted a picture of. That screw fit perfectly in the 6-32 nut in the photo. Gerry

Looks like problems with the middle burner. I'm reminded of the Challenger shuttle but there aren't any o rings on that burner... (or rocket fuel) Gerry

    Flank Steak on Steel

Flank steak ready. Grill up to temp. 1/4” stainless steel, screaming hot. Meat on. Steak weights on. Five minute flip. Repeat with the weights. Ten minute check. I usually do these with the lid closed and it’s done in 10 min. This time, lid up. Took two more minutes flipping each minute...

    The project has begun!!

Lunacy? I hope not! I built two frames out of stainless. They should last a hundred years! It’s been five years since I finished mine. After reading this thread, I might have to do a freshening up! Gerry

    Weber Tiki torch repair?

I would probably try using them without any glue at first. Just fill them up until just below the joint, drop the top part on and light it. See how it works for you and go from there. There are oil resistant sealers that could be used. Look for oil resistant sealers for automotive use like...
