I saw Weber came out with a griddle. Anyone planning on purchasing?

I have a piece of 1/4” thick stainless steel on our grill that works great for making smash burgers. It’s the right size for making two burgers (four patties). The trick is to give the “griddle” enough time to get up to temp. About 20 minutes on HHH gets it done. After cooking, I pour water on...

    WEBER GENESIS LID NUTS

The real old Genesis grills used a 1/4-20 nut with I believe a toothed washer attached. I would just use 1/4-20 nuts. Stainless if you want, but no real need for that since the bolt isn't stainless. Gerry

Anywhere to buy e320 valve spools?

I'm thinking that a light sanding with 1200 grit should not have done any damage. That being said, brass is soft. Did you notice a lot of brass on the sandpaper afterwards? I would take them apart and clean them very thoroughly and reassemble with a very very light dab of grease. Is it...

    Anybody grilling?

I started the grill with all burners on high. After about five min, we ate our salad. The steak went on after that, so I would say it was heating for over twenty minutes. The thermometer on the grill was over 550. Also, on our older red lids, the color changes to a deeper red when they get...

    Anybody grilling?

We picked up a couple of flank steaks. One for the freezer, and one to cook today. I put the steel on the grates and got it as hot as I could. Dropped the flank steak on and pressed it down with the big press. 5 min a side and started checking the internal temp. Shot for about 135, but I...

Happen to Anyone Else with Amazon?

Since I use a couple of Synology NAS units, I decided to try their wireless router RT2600AC. I no longer need to use the extra access points that I needed in the living room and the garage. I bought it a couple of years ago and so far I’ve been very happy with it! Gerry

Tools: The very good, the ugly, and one every grill restoration person should have!

Jon, I noticed that the torx bits you have there have the hole in the end. Those are made for the “tamper resistant” torx headed screws. The solid bits may not have snapped. Gerry

In one of your pictures it looks like the stem is bent. If it is, try straightening it, and test it again. Gerry

My weber spirit 700 scale is not showing accurate readings

I'm guessing that the OP just wants to get the scale working on a recently acquired Genesis. We don't know how far he wants to pursue it after that, but I think we have given him a good start. I'm awaiting the post from him that says,"It works now, thanks!" I've got some uses for that pb...

My weber spirit 700 scale is not showing accurate readings

I agree that WD40 is kind of a cheap short term solution, it's a good start to free things up. WD40 is very light weight and won't last all too long. After it's freed up, I might try spraying with Cosmoline to keep the exposed parts protected from rust, and a dry lube like you suggest for the...

My weber spirit 700 scale is not showing accurate readings

Yup! There have been times where I didn't put the tank on the scale because the frame was a parallelogram from the weight of the tank. Tank on the ground. Lift and shake with calibrated arms. Spare tank in the garage. Good to go! I have since converted to natural gas, so I don't have to...
