Smoked beef plank short ribs competition with two old friends

My SmokeFire is on the "too cold to cook list" for probably the rest of the Winter so I thought it would be fun to have a friendly beef plank short rib competition with two old friends. I bought these prime beef ribs from Cattle and Cream which is a small meat market and ice cream shop in...

Build your own Nacho bar for the college football games tonight

Those nachos look great. The first time I had these was several years ago from a food truck and paid $15 for a plate smaller than yours or mine. Homemade is so much better and costs a whole lot less.

16 oz prime rib eyes reverse seared on the SmokeFire........or not!

Just want to put this post to bed. Weber's official response with respect to taking 30+ minutes to reach 600 is that "it would not be unusual in cold weather". With respect to shutting down twice all they could suggest is "doing a power cycle by turning off the SmokeFire, leaving it for 60...

Build your own Nacho bar for the college football games tonight

Trying to put a little excitement into watching the college football games tonight so we have a build your own nacho bar featuring brisket, pulled pork and turkey for the meat and lots of toppings. Looking for assistance from any cold weather SF users

Earthquakes, mudslides, wild fires, draught, homeless, drugs, crazy politicians that tell you to do one thing and they do the opposite, etc, etc. Not trying to offend anyone but I'll stay in Northern IL. :)

Looking for assistance from any cold weather SF users

If there are any cold weather users I would appreciate if you could tell me how long it takes to get to 600 degrees preferably when the outside temperature is 35 degrees or lower. I had several issues the other night one of which was that it took 35 to 40 minutes to reach 600 degrees. Outside...

    Brunswick Stew

On a cold December day I like to eat a big bowl of Brunswick stew almost as much as a big bowl of chili. Especially when it's made with leftover brisket and pulled pork smoked on the SmokeFire and turkey smoked on the WSM. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a couple...

16 oz prime rib eyes reverse seared on the SmokeFire........or not!

Jon - Thanks for the words of encouragement. To have a grill fail when its 70 degrees and light out is one thing but to have it fail multiple times when its 35 degrees or colder and pitch black out is a whole different story. My wife couldn't care less what I cook on and just like everybody...
