New HM build - Thermocouple always off

    Thank you very much, Brian.

Looking for Maverick probe thermistor data table

Looking good so far. All 3 probes/thermocouples/whatever agree for once. Thanks!

Looking for Maverick probe thermistor data table

Cool, will pop them in now :) I have my old PID on fan duty right now, so .. good testing opportunity. will let you know.

Looking for Maverick probe thermistor data table

Interested to see what you come up with and if there are any changes in coefficients. I'm using one of the "high heat smoker probe" ET-73's linked from the Wiki as a pit probe in a test smoke right now... and it's so far off that I can't even use it for pit temp.. the thermocouple and old...

    LinkMeter v10 Release

Workingest is definitely a word :) Going to check it out... I can solder well, but, the circuit design stuff, not so much. I need to RTFM so I can be a contributor around here and not so useless

    LinkMeter v10 Release

Updated w/ no issues. Thanks, Bryan. Much appreciated. Have a cook coming up this weekend to give her a good run. I'll bite. I have thermocouples. Any more info? Very interested in this, and sharing what I learn... just need to be led to water. Apologies if I am missing something and not...

so how are you attaching your blower to the smoker

This is on my Chargriller Smokin' Pro, which I don't really use for smoking much any more .. I think it was a dog bowl from Walmart. On the UDS.. this is how I originally set it up, and too lazy to re-configure it yet, but I will. This is my old PID, the blower is inside, so, just send...

    Better probes?

thank you sir! And again, anyone needs thermocouple to borrow... give me a shout.

    Better probes?

Ooh :) <Has plenty o thermocouple around and happy to guinea pig stuff.. have spare ones I'd even lend you

    Better probes?

Care to share the coefficients? Those are the exact ones I have - that I've been working on calculating... unsuccessful on round #1. I think I need to let temps stabilize before taking readings

No airflow issues, the other PID maintains temp fine. Haven't fired up the UDS in a while (shame on me), made typical mistake of IT guy working from home and having to rush back to the computer.. didn't let the fire come up to temp enough and turned on the HM early, so, the fan blasting at...

Just running through a test run with the HM now on the UDS. The Maverick probes are reading about 20 degrees high compared to the thermocouple I have on there. Is it normal for them not to react to temperature drops quickly? Opened the lid to let a rush of air in to see how much chaos I can...

    Troubleshooting Help

Went through this and put into the program you once linked (tablegenerator.exe) .. Think I am having the same problem that Nick is, with the one probe not heating up as fast as the other. Took the coefficients, but, nothing stable. I think I'll have to take more stable readings (as in, let...

Anyone, more info on the wireless probes? I thought I was a good searcher .. apparently not :(

    External Battery Power

I have a jump pack around that has a cig lighter socket - had plenty of cig lighter plugs around with barrel connectors already on them, so, I use that. If you don't have any in your warehouse, easy enough to solder up.

Maybe I'll be talked into it, eventually :) The PID + UDS setup satisfied the geek and cook in me well, I am sure adding the HM will take it to the next level :) I'm not afraid of making more HM's or modifying down the road.. it was soothing to take a little bit if quiet soldering time to...

I definitely have - I'm not planning on using a damper, ever, so didn't go that route.

Well, I didn't really MAKE the chargriller.. just did the modifications to it to make it more reliable.. Forget where I originally saw all the ideas, probably somewhere on thesmokering a long time ago. The UDS, yeah, I assembled it, but, can't take credit for it. So many threads on the...

Hey everybody, Finally have my HM 4.0 ready for cooking.. had a few questions, though. I (thought I) searched quite a bit and still could not find answers, so, my apologies if I just suck at the Internet.. Trying to find plans for lmremote board / wireless probes - not able to do so. I went...
