    General 3D Printing Thread

My Prusa is up and running. Thanks again to all of the help in this thread. I have to detail my build when I get the chance to type it up. Really happy with print #1. Printed a 20mm test cube... no warping, nice and straight, and within .2mm on each side. Good enough for me, now on to...

    Version 4.2.4 Heatermeter UDS

Sorry to bump old one but no need for (Yet) another thread on this. John, what's your latest config for UDS now that you've tried the different fan/damper combos?

    General 3D Printing Thread

Got my friend's prusa up and running great. Thanks for all the info in this thread. Mine is pretty much done except some idiot with shaky hands fried a board while multi-metering stepper driver stuff... oops. I got unlucky with this kit. I expect some DIY but when ordering a kit would...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Taking the RD3 on maiden UDS voyage. Will report back tomorrow on settings. Going low and slow so seeing how 'on at max only' behaves. PID settings are up in the air right now, trying an old set I had to see what happens :) Edit: I'm terrible at PID tuning, I have determined :/ someday...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I'm keeping an eye out, HD and Lowes will eventually clearance them too. You know my deal.. got mine for $89 at target. If there was more than one I would have driven you one just for being such a good dude

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Let me know if I can help. My RD3 on Akorn is deadly accurate, happy to share settings (I think already in this thread though :) )

    HM not connecting to network

I hadn't used my wireless in forever (lost the dongle, woops), finally got around to fixing it. It was being goofy, figured it was because I had so long for a firmware upgrade (AVR and openwrt) I just saved my config URL and did a full reset from the HM button, Bryan had mentioned that in one...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Neither had I before I bought the Kamado. I'm a fan now. I don't even use a full one, I cut them in half. There are nerds on the 'Net that make their own with dryer lint and wax. Some even have cotton balls soaked in alcohol. I'm all for DIY, but they are so cheap that I haven't gone down...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Interesting stuff, Ralph. I really benefit a lot from your trials since we have the same grill :) I've never had such an efficient and stable environment to use the HM + RD3 on -- it's amazing to see the similar results everyone can get with different settings and it is definitely fun to test...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Really loving the RD3. I added a little extension to the mount, the printed plastic thread fell out the other day when I had the fauxmodo cranked up way high.. I'll post a pic, but, imagine just a 3" pipe section in between what I had. I knew I had a learning curve, and along with Ralph's help...

    General 3D Printing Thread

This is a great thread, just wanted to say thanks. Friend just got a Prusa i3 and will be a joint effort using it for stuff, can't wait. Bryan, went looking at your pics, looks like you have something new in the works :)

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Thanks, that was near my plan. Definitely a learning curve with these as they are such a different type of cooker than what I'm used to. Can't wait to get the experience under my belt and use it effectively. I just turned everything off, closed, and it's slowly dying out. Not feeling well...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Hi Ralph, Thanks so much for the post. I try to be transparent and give as much info, as you deserve to have it after all the hard work. Regardless of all the questions I promise I am not lazy and do try to read as much as possible before posting.. :) and share as much as possible to help...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Thanks a ton to Ralph. Taking the maiden voyage of my new RD3 now on my also new Akorn Kamado aka Fauxmado as Ralph likes to call it :) No issues except 2 of the 4 servos in the 4 pack were seized up.. how nice of them. Gathered settings from this thread, currently testing out low and...

    Version 4.2.4 Heatermeter UDS

Same here on the temps, I did Turkey and had to open the second one for 300+. I rarely ever go that high, anyways, mostly low and slow for me. I did some briskets last winter during a snowstorm and super cold weather (I'm in the Philly area). I had some cheapo reflective insulation wrap...

    Version 4.2.4 Heatermeter UDS

Rob, John, thanks for the replies, I know I'm a pain in the *** and appreciate it. Rob, 3/4" inlet with Ball Valve, Opened the whole way. I did the bits in the one thread to figure out maximum opening size, then matched the servo opening to that and just leave the ball valve all the way open...
