The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Yeah I figured out that the 3-sloted damper wheel went with the 3-slotted cover AFTER I imported & moved them around (I did't realize the 3-slot cover existed until I couldn't figure out what was what), so I just left it between the covers. I'm horrible with fusion360, but I don't really have...

The Adapt-a-Damper - Open Source Project

Are your files on thingiverse complete? I think you need 1 more STL to make a complete print (the damper wheel) & the .3dm files don't look to be complete either. (I pulled them into Fusion360 & quickly aligned) Missing the dovetail/keyway on the lower box, missing the damper wheel.

    Meat Stall Alarm?

Is the 'Degrees per hour' a variable that is saved somewhere & accessible to the alarms? You could do 'Probe temp > x && Degree/hr < y' to reduce false positives. I doubt it would be predictive, but at least it'd remind you if you forgot it. Very general idea - I don't use alarms & scripts for...

    Using linux containers for linkmeter

If 'extending the capabilities' requires moving to debian from openWRT, it would make more sense to just do native vs dockerizing. I have dockers on my unraid server that run Plex/SAB/Headphones and they run perfectly & screwing one up doesn't hurt the others. I'm not sure it makes as much...

    Different HeaterMeter hardware ideas

I don't think the native heatermeter OpenWRT will fit on an esp8266, but quick googling 'esp8266 openWRT' says it's possible to get openWRT. 1MB of flash isn't going to allow much. You'll need a 5V/3.3V logic converter in there as well for the esp-Arduino connection I'm waiting to see what is...

Pit Meter crash when changing a value

iOS app is COMPLETELY separate from PitMeter - written by different people. If it's crashing on both, something else is going on.

    General 3D Printing Thread

I have USB Webcam & USB connection to the printer (printer has a UART, might look into that). I considered USB->Serial being the problem, I'm going to try a shorter cable (had an A/C fan cord crossing the USB cable, turned in on & printer went offline). I was concerned with the webcam, but I...

    General 3D Printing Thread

Couple Octoprint questions for those of you that use it: I have a Da Vinci 1.0 running Repetier firmware, latest Octopi image on a B+. "medium' overclock via raspian settings (900mhz) On small circles, the buffer gets empty/print goes slow. I'm using the same serial speed vs Repetier Host on a...

Pit Meter crash when changing a value

It's never happened to me before, but you might want to post this in the Pit Meter thread so the dev gets notified about it. I also haven't tested it much since they've recently updated it. As always, maybe uninstall/reinstall & re-enter your settings to see if it was just something screwy.

Newbie question - How do I asssure that I have everything to build a HM quickly?

1 Bryan sells HM kits w SMD already soldered (not sure about bare boards w/o SMD soldered, but you can get either elsewhere). 'All you gotta do is put it together'. And figure out a way to mount it to grill, house it, tweak it to your grill, etc. ;) Ain't no plug & play - not even the...

For hose if you with 3D Printers

I've looked at the prices that some charge on 3dhubs & thought it might be a good idea. Then I remember how much of a PITA people & my 3d printer are & quickly scratch the idea.

    General 3D Printing Thread

When I bought the XYZ Da Vinci, I decided that either it was going to print on the glass bed or it was going back to Amazon. It turned out to really be a non-issue EXCEPT if I left the door/window open & the door to the printer open & a cold draft hit the print. Glue stick worked ok, ABS...

    General 3D Printing Thread

I've had ABS parts literally jump off the bed using the canned air, but yeah its expensive. I usually just let it cool completely & twist or scrape if it needs a little help. I have a sealable jar w/the abs juice & a paint brush, every print I brush some on. As far as consumable, it's a...

$17.24/kg delivered. ABS/PLA/PETG/HIPS CODE: OCTO20 http://www.makergeeks.com/maker-filament.html I bought some last time they had 20% off, but haven't got to use it yet. Looks OK, I would bet its somewhere between the hatchbox I normally use & the ExcelFil I just finished. Not a great color...

Community 3D Printer / Assembly / Trading Resources

Free to good home: White case for a HM4.0 (Not current hardware). Not a looker, it's one of my first prints, cheap ABS & a few warped corners, but it fits, protects and sits on the grill just fine. 1st person to give me an address gets it.

    The meater

Or I could finally put the SSR I bought to make the HM into a sous vide controller into use. It's sitting 2' away from me as I type this. Too many projects. Damn work.

    The meater

Could still be 'a moron can't replace the battery' rather than, 'we glued the damn things together so tight you'll never get it apart' but I won't bet on it until somebody tries. I was thinking about no more burning hair smell when I was trying to get the perfect MedRare/Med that I like. But...
