A damper will allow him to leave the air intake fully open without having temperature overshoots due to drafting through the fan. Darin: You can put a damper on the 4.0 board if that is what you are using now.

Supports in 1.0 seems to be much improved over the release candidates. I was able to remove them from a small part.

Still a pretty nice plot. I added the roto damper before my last cook. It took quite a while to get things leveled out. Before the damper, I could get really good control except for flare ups. Hopefully the damper solves that problem.

John, are you using any type of damper with your heatermeter? That is a nice consistent temp plot.

    When one Heatermeter isn't enough.....

This is awesome. What are you doing with so many of them? Tom, how long did it take to print all those cases?

The V3 changed to a 24 volt heated bed. That's really the only difference. I had been running a 3D Systems SLA 250 for the past 6 years trying to make a business of it. It wasn't working out and I just liked building things. (And could not afford to build things with the SLA. $$$) So, I sold...

I am unable to port forward my heatermeter right now but here is a screenshot of yesterday's brisket cook. It is my first run with the roto-damper so a lot of tweaking was going on. It is looking pretty good right now.

Based on Tom's comments in this thread, it sounds like the parts just pop right off his thicker sheets when cool and stick very well when the bed is hot. All the damage done to my PET film has been during part removal. I just have a hard time getting the parts to stick well enough that they...

I asked about the Ultem bed material over on the Lulzbot forum. One of the members there found this 0.010" thick adhesive backed Ultem in a 12 X 12 inch size. It might be worth checking out. He said he was going to and would report results...

Great. Thanks for the info. I will have to give them a try. I hope this jam up is just a fluke because I have a kilo of red and a kilo of pink waiting to be used... The other rolls of Matterhacker I have used were always in the 2.91mm diameter range. The red I tried last night was only 2.75mm...

Thanks. I was a little skeptical of the ord and jet on Amazon. I might have to give it a shot. Do you notice much difference between the more expensive Lulzbot or Ultimachine stuff compared to jet or ord?

What filament suppliers have you all had good luck with? I have been using black and orange Matterhackers ABS without issue. Last night I loaded up a roll of red from them and my nozzle clogged almost immediately...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Well, it isn't likely to stay in this configuration. This is the way I had it set up for the ball damper so gravity was working for me. When I built the UDS, I ran the pipe up the side so I could adjust the valve without standing on my head. I left it there when I added the fan for the...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Well, it is ready for a trial run this weekend. I had to model a new smoker interface to match my current UDS setup. I also want to use a panel mount connector of some sort for the servo and fan, so I can close up the wiring cavity. Anyway, here it is in all its glory.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Mario was also asking about availability of roto damper parts. I have asked the same question. Others have also asked. I realize you are still modifying the design but some of like to play with new stuff! Have you posted design or stl files? Are you planning to? Inquiring minds want to know!
