I will just leave this here

I changed my wife’s Spirit grease tray and pan over to a Silver B on. I think I had to shorten the rails which was an easy fix I did have to outboard the tank which was a little work since the Spirits of that vintage don’t use a tank scale

    Weber Genesis Old vs New

Other than a 14 inch Smoky Joe kettle that the kids wanted for s’mores I haven’t brought a grill in the 30 plus years I’ve been grilling. The only thing I buy is burner tubes and ignitions every few years and I can usually reuse those parts on grills I sell i thought it was an acronym Break...

    Weber Genesis Old vs New

The newer grills, less than 10 years old, require less time to fix so they are ok. The old ones don’t make much sense economically but they are more satisfying to work on. You can recover the costs on the old ones and squeak out a little profit. Cheaper hobby than classic cars or boats

    Weber Genesis Old vs New

The new versions of the Hondas and Toyotas gas only are less efficient than the 1980’s. The safety requirements added 100’s of pounds. Safer and probably more reliable. Added complexity makes them more difficult to repair

    Deck issues

Rip up the wood and throw it out. Go composite. There are brands very similar to Trex at less cost per board foot that are available at a local lumberyard that serves pros if you still have one in your area Only maintenance is pressure washing boards that don’t get sun.

What is this and is it worth $75

1st generation Summit It needs lots of work and it’s probably Natural Gas. My unsentimental top price is $20. Free is better If you really want love that grill and are willing to put in the work $75.00 is not unreasonable. Bear in mind parts are hard to come by.

Napoleon Prestige 500 vs Weber Genesis E-435

Joe, that’s nice restoration work on the Napoleon. I was wondering if you brought new which would have surprised me since you have posted many good looking grill rebuilds over the years. The shrouded hood is a nice feature that the Genesis doesn’t have

Napoleon Prestige 500 vs Weber Genesis E-435

They are cool looking that’s why. I don’t really know… They were some of the nicest stainless grids I have seen. Well built, flat and keep the stainless shine through heat cycles.

Napoleon Prestige 500 vs Weber Genesis E-435

I salvaged a couple of sets of the wavy grids from Napoleon grills. They were heavy non magnetic stainless probably 9mm. I didn’t have any issues cleaning them. No different from Weber Summit 9mm. I cleaned them on a work table not on the Napoleon for the record I cut them down for a Genesis...

    Curb Alert !!!

Those look like Weber GBS which was not original to that grill. The version was discontinued I believe. You can still buy the accessories that go in the middle like a pizza stone. I had an older version. The 12” center insert was too small for anything that would feed more than 2 people

Debate: 13 Bar Genesis vs Summit 400 Series

I doubt you will get many people who cooked on both and did a comparison. The S470 is not that common of a grill. The Genesis of that era are the same size as an S470.
