    Curb Alert !!!

With the cast iron I have to be careful with lamb chops followed by boneless chicken breasts. If I don’t brush off the cast iron before the chicken breasts I get some black lines that will now be my meal. Beef then chicken is ok. For the grills I sell I default to used stainless. Whenever I...

    Curb Alert !!!

Thanks. I don’t think my family are typical grillers We are cast iron and grill about 10 times per week. I think 5 of the times are bone in pork chops that keep the cast iron seasoned but who’s counting

2 factors to consider is how much will you use the grill and spacing between the rods. If you cook thin stuff like sliced vegetables, chicken cutlets, thin hamburgers, etc watch out for the spacing. You might get a good price on stainless rod cooking grids and have your food fall into the...

Will this side burner fit my Genesis ?

I don’t see much of a difference on a side burner setup for Natural Gas running grill regulated propane with no modifications. I have 2 in operation. Both have continuous valves not step valves. The Weber side burners are relatively low output and run in the open. If anything they are...

Will this side burner fit my Genesis ?

Hi Ant, The dimensions will fit in the frame and the side burner has its own ignition so you should be ok there. The gas fitting may be different so you might have some work to do to get it plumbed. Hopefully your manifold on the 2000 has a plug and is already tapped.

    Curb Alert !!!

You can burn charcoal on the ground with a with rocks as a fire ring and whatever cooking grids you can scrounge up and still get good results. And new kettles aren’t that much and will last forever with care. Other than collector’s editions there is limited top prices to be had.

    Hello from Pennsylvania

Hi Bruce, I have had good luck with aftermarket igniters. I have probably purchased about a 100 over the last few years for various Weber models. I haven’t seen any significant design differences or noticeable performance issues. If you have a battery powered ignition you should remove the...

Does anyone use an induction burner?

My wife and daughter use a single burner “hot plate” style single induction burner and like it. It was pricey but they can use iron cookware from dollar mart and get good results. I haven’t noticed any current draw issues with the single induction burner.

How are you removing / reinstalling weber white wheel rings ?

I’ve done a few. At first I was giving them too much of a tap with an iron hammer and I mushroomed the little studs. As I evolved, I started using a wood block and gently tapping out the studs while rotating around the wheel to keep from breaking the ring. For some reason the front facing...

How far can someone go for a Weber warranty on replacement parts?

Craigslist which is much more fun. Anyhoo I knew it was rough up front. I am in constant need of small parts to keep my grill repairing business viable. So I was ok to help remove it. The grill was only a couple years old and the gentleman was happy with it. He was bummed when it got taken out...

How far can someone go for a Weber warranty on replacement parts?

I”ll pickup any Weber that’s not out of my way and is free. I get a few wrecks. This one had a tree fall on it. I talked to the owner and saw the tree and other damage. Much more severe than snow or ice damage. I was able to salvage the base panel, cooking grids, flavor bars and a few small...

I will just leave this here

Wouldn’t come down to frame tube size? The fat frame tubes that are rectangular have a different firebox that the smaller square tube platinum/gold/silver B and C’s? I have never seen a fat tube in person

I will just leave this here

When I was a little kid our neighbor Mr St. Laurent paneled the interior of his home. The paneling was paid for with coupons from Raleigh cigarettes. In all fairness that was long ago. The paneling may have outlasted Mr St Laurent

    Curb Alert !!!

You might get about $70 dollars for a 200 lb grill after putting in about 2 hours of hard work I scrap out a couple of 304 stainless grills per year. If the parts are too much to buy or I can’t wholesale it to a high end grill restorer, time to scrap. It’s a lot of work to get it clean...
