If it was a Silver, the leg on the left would have the notch for the swing table to lock into. This one does not have it. It's a 2006-2007 Sprit E-310.

Yup, you can tell by: 1) no swing table on the left 2) no "Genesis" label 3) plain burner control panel 4) cheaper looking work table on the left I've flipped a couple of the 2-burner Spirit versions of this vintage and also owned a 2005 Silver A for a time. These are nice grills.

Don't discount the first generation ones (aka SSPs). They have beefy frames (compared to the later generation models), a nice stainless top that doubles has a work surface, nice colors, etc etc.

If there were no horizontal bars that connect the legs, then I'd agree with you. But on this model, I think the bottom shelf on the 2000-2001 models just sits on top of the frame, instead of clipping on to the legs.

There's a slot under the frame for you to insert a flathead screwdriver to release a locking tab on the endcap. It may take a while if it hasn't been removed in years.

Yes, the stainless frame is the calling card of the platinum. The bottom shelf is still painted steel and prone to rust, and I can't tell from the pics if this one's bottom shelf is any good.
