    Should I buy a 2009 or 2010 Performer?

I'm just contemplating buying a Performer with gas assist, but they're horribly expensive over here - About $650 for the 2010 model, or I can get a 2009 model for about $550. There are only a few difference between the 2009 and 2010, but is there anything which would make the 2010 worth the...

For those struggling over "cold-smoking" on the Weber...

Interesting setup! What have you tried smoking? I've been doing a bit of cold smoking in a GA. Since then I've been experimenting with a proq cold smoke generator in my OTG and I really like it - It's simple cheap, effective and mine burns for over 11 hours on a load. I find that the results...

Weber 22.5 inch half cast iron grate

Now I'm starting to see the possibilities - I don't think I'll buy one just yet though as I just bought a stainless steel grate - Another thing you can no longer buy in the US -Mark.

Changing European regulator to use in USA

The Q100 uses disposable gas bottles, and are they different in Europe and the US? The regulated gas pressure in Nordic countries is 29 mbar, and iirc it's also about 30 in the US. In the UK they use 37mbar, and in Germany 50mbar. The other thing to worry about is that different countries use...

Weber 22.5 inch half cast iron grate

Would you use the grate version or the pan version, and what would you do with it? I'm sure there are shops which would ship internationally. These are quite expensive though - About 90 Euros. Good (for you) that the Euro is pretty weak at the moment though. -Mark.

    wok for the sj

Here's the wok which I use on my SJS: Here it's on the grate, but it's also possible to use it without and just rest it on it's handles. The kids love it when I do pancakes on it. -Mark.

Weber 22.5 inch half cast iron grate

Weber have come out with this weird 22.5 inch grate with a cast iron insert in the middle: It only seems to be available in Europe, and there's another version with a griddle pan in the middle instead of the CI grate: http://www.webergrill.se/Yleiset-tarvikkeet-503.aspx I won't be buying...

Cold smoked salmon in a Go Anywhere

I've been wanting to try cold smoking for quite a while, and on Friday I tried for the first time. Here's a picture of my set up: I built a smoke daddy-type cold smoke generator, and used my GA as the smoke box. I was originally planning to do the smoking in my WSM, but in the end I used the...

Me my GA and my kabops

Since it's been nice and warm lately my Go Anywhere has been getting some use. I own an SJS and GA, but I prefer the GA - I just prefer the venting arrangement, size, shape and portability. It's shape makes the GA perfect for kabops. Here it is with some beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, red...

    Controlling temp with OTG

I usually use about a full chimney when I grill direct. For indirect I use one basket, which is half a chimney. I live in Oulu, and it's pretty difficult to find meat, but I have found a butcher who is really friendly, helpful, and seems to enjoy a challenging customer For doing pulled pork I...
