Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

The adapter works fine on my windows pc, so it's not a bum adapter. As soon as I unplugged it, put in the edimax one and powered up, a mac address was listed, and a scan brought up many networks. I think they have maybe changed the adapter, there are many new reviews on Amazon complaining it...

Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

And the original one I ordered 'NiceEshop(TM) Mini' was listed in the wiki as RT5370, and advertised online as RT5370, and it didn't work AT ALL. Neither mode.

PitDroid: An Android app for your HeaterMeter

Colin, are you still maintaining this app? Any way to enter both an internal and external ip? Eg when I am at home with my phone on wifi, have it connect to the internal address of the heatermeter (192.168.1.xxx) and when away from home, connect to my home external static ip 69.xxx.xxx.xxx ? eg...

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

    Ok I understand now

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

I checked with my multimeter, and the middle tab is the ground (common). I measure 0 resistance between tabs 2 (middle) and 3 (back) with no probe inserted. With a probe, I measured the probe resistance through tabs 1 (front) & 2. That means 2 is the ground (common).

Change the port HM is 'listening on'

John, what is the cable modem model? You mentioned it has wireless (but not good). Again, it might be able to handle the routing.

Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

It was the adapter. The 'niceEshop(TM) Mini 150mbps USB Wifi Wireless LAN Card 802.11 N/G/B Adapter With Antenna' doesn't seem to work.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Ralph, On the panel mount jacks you provided me, that go in the damper body, the solder tabs are inline instead of offset like the through hole mount ones that go on the HM board. I found a schematic online but want to confirm, the tab 1 closest to the probe is the probe wire, 2 (middle) is...

Change the port HM is 'listening on'

So do you have the cable modem router only acting as a modem, and you have the WRN3500 plugged into it to give your routing and wifi? If so, you might be able to do the routing with the modem router as I suggested, but keep its wifi turned off and use the WRN3500 as a wireless access point (turn...

Change the port HM is 'listening on'

Yes, time for a new router. Or first, what kind of internet do you have? Cable? DSL? I'm on DSL and my modem is a modem router, I have it doing all the routing. My wireless router is being used as a wireless access point only. What make/model modem do you have?

Change the port HM is 'listening on'

I don't think you'd need to set up two different external noip addresses, you'd connect this way: http://UDS.servebeer.com:8080 http://UDS.servebeer.com:8081 In your router, forward external port 8080 to 192.168.1.15 port 80, and external port 8081 to 192.168.1.16 port 80

Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

and...do I put my home wireless network name in ESSID or BSSID?

Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

How/where? Under wifi page, do I set the mode to client? Do I put my home wireless network name in ESSID or BSSID? I'm still wondering why there is no mac address showing when on the interfaces tab, or it's all 00s. Thinking it means the dongle isn't supported.

Wifi - no mac address, scan doesn't find any networks

Right, and I don't want it to run in AP mode. I want it to connect to my home network. When I click scan, absolutely no networks come up. When I used the dongle on my pc, 7 or so networks came up (mine and many neighbors)
