    HeaterMeter Snapshot for RPi3 Available

The old 4GB SD card works OK now. It just needed to be fully wiped clean, only deleting previous partitions before writing the image just isn't enough. The wifi setup still needs some work, it works but it is somewhat difficult to set up. Also no fallback IPadress for the LAN port. So far no...

    HeaterMeter Snapshot for RPi3 Available

My RPI3 arrived just today, what a coincidence! And its up and running, just having some wifi configuration issues and for some reason my trusty old 4GB SD card doesn't work while my new 64GB card just works fine. Anyway, great work Bryan!

HM 4.2.4 schematic image missing from wiki/picassa

The first image that google came up with; This a top view BTW.

    12V power problem

If running at 5V from the USB power makes the HM work, then I would assume that the 3V3 regulator is installed correctly. I recently had two "OKI" boards (new, form Mouser) with dry soldered header pins, causing the same issues that Joseph has. After cleaning and reflowing the solder joints all...

SMD Heatermeter on a RPI B+? Yes, it can be done......

    And a new PCB design. The boards have been ordered today so hopefully in a week or two I know if they work (computer says yes, but you never know..). Top side; Bottom;

SMD Heatermeter on a RPI B+? Yes, it can be done......

I made some small modifications to the SMD HM case mainly to prevent warping of the top corners. Also the fit is slightly improved, it will print a bit faster and uses less filament to print. The STL files for the thermocouple version; Top Bottom The STL files for the 4 probe version; Top...

    General 3D Printing Thread

No experience with V-slot so I can't help you there but in hind sight I should have gone for bronze/graphite bearings instead of the linear ball bearings. I think that this will be the first mayor upgrade to this printer. The 1/32 micro stepping helps a lot to reduce the sound of the stepper...

    General 3D Printing Thread

Although the print quality of the new printer wasn't bad at all I still wasn't happy with the reliability of the extruder, especially when using more than 2mm retraction or when using fast retraction. The extruder motor (and driver) couldn't handle the high torque and was causing the filament to...

    Headless HeaterMeter

I always thought that Canadians have pet polar bears instead of cats.;) But I suppose that most Americans think that we all live in windmills and wear wooden shoes.... But that's not true, I wear 3D printed bamboo shoes:cool:

    General 3D Printing Thread

Having owned a Prusa i3 for about two years now and having replaced and modified almost every part of the original kit I'm finally able to use this printer without any tinkering and the print results are usually great without having to do any voodoo anymore. But what's the fun in that? So, it...

SMD Heatermeter on a RPI B+? Yes, it can be done......

Wow, this looks very good! Are the components self aligning during the reflow proces?

Building a Heatermeter in 2 minutes!

This afternoon I made a short time lapse video of the building process of a heatermeter. Just for the record, I do my own stunts...........;)

    Anyone tried this fan?

This is the same type of blower that I used in the past. Works fine, mine was setup to maximum 30%. Don't buy them from RS but get a cheapie from ebay or aliexpress.

    Cheap Thermocouples

I don't have any experience with these cheap Ebay thermocouples, so far I've only used the Auberins alligator clips, but for my next batch I might buy a couple just to see how good or bad they are.
