nhl playoffs are here! it took 82 games but they are here!

30 teams, 23 man roster. That's 690 players the inverse of which is 0.14% presuming one possession charge per year. Methinks this is, at worse, the rate in the general population. I guess it could be far more rampant but even at 5x, its likely still behind the other three leagues.

nhl playoffs are here! it took 82 games but they are here!

Boogaart was not street drugs and property was a long, long time ago. Do players ( with millions in the bank) have problems? Sure. But if you rank mlb, nba, nfl and nhl, the nhl finishes fourth by a freaking mile. So.much so I'm not convinced it's higher than gen pop.

nhl playoffs are here! it took 82 games but they are here!

meh, in the last two years you have 2 ( ryan malone last year and Stoll). the nba, the mlb and good god the nfl would DIE for this level. I hope he gets help if he needs it. but a young millionaire getting caught up in this type of thing really shouldnt be much a surprise. Ribero had...

nhl playoffs are here! it took 82 games but they are here!

As to the bolded, I think that of the 8 teams, detroit ( maybe pitts) is the least likely to come out of the east. Their goaltending has been awful, and I'm guessing that they go with an unproven Mrazrek. as for the blues, you statement seem to strike me with a certain sense of deja vu, like...

nhl playoffs are here! it took 82 games but they are here!

This is why the parity in the nhl is the best in pro sports, teams getting in or out with one or two games left in the regular season. The surprises: the defending champion routine of squeaking into 8th came back to bite them this year. And the Bruins being on the outside looking in was also...

recommend any good movies that are streaming on Netflix?

I'm not sure if its on netflix or prime but I like "Chef (2014)" with Jon Favreau ( whom I ususally hate). there is also a cameo by Aron Franklin and his briskets. kind of ( and I know this is going to make some people cringe) a Favreau'ed "Big night" on wheels. it's no shawshank redemption...

...........to be a fly on the wall.............. (smart tvs listening article)

its possible right now. In fact Microsoft had a problem when they released the Xbone and had a commercial demonstrating it. the problem is that there were a lot of Xbones that heard the voice commands and did what the one in the commerical was supposed to. And to creep you out even more...

new Home Theater / Gaming PC

I just found out that pushing that button actually slower the processor down to 8088 clock speeds for compatibility! My childhood is ruined! Wasting all those megahertz as I fancied myself a speed demon,I was in the Slow lane! What's next my 56k us robotics modem was not state of the art...

new Home Theater / Gaming PC

pshaw that thing was a cray compared to my first "PC" ( the term between the quotations is used very loosely) The commodore vic20 5Kb of static ram MOS 6502 CPU ( in all its 8-bit glory) a monochromatic orange CRT and the ubiquitous C2nB Datasette from that I went to a 286 that was...

new Home Theater / Gaming PC

that's a relatively cheap fix if you have an open pci slot, you can get a 5.1 sound card with spdif out for about 15-20 bucks after rebate ( like this one ASUS Xonar DG 5.1 at newegg) And on a new build its likely you do have some open pci slots. ultimately for the sake of avoiding a rats...

new Home Theater / Gaming PC

nothing wrong with make mkv but if you are not going to handbrake them, you are gonna fill up that ssd pretty fast. with a connected nas, you really dont have to transcode them, and I've been toldthat it is possible to play mkv's in WMC but like you I rely on VLC. The ram will help, but not...

new Home Theater / Gaming PC

building a HTPC is always a fun exercise and gives you lots of time to read up on critical things that you never even knew existed. At the risk of providing some unsolicited advice, I will do so simply because I wished that someone would have provided it to me. Are you running WMC ? I presume...

    R.I.P le Gros Bill

Jones had a tough night, you guys carried the 1st and if not for carey price, you guys would have killed us ( a common refrain for the habs). The sole saving grace is that doughty didn't look so great on on sekac's goal.

    R.I.P le Gros Bill

His death happened when they were on the road, tonight is the first night back home since his passing and there will be a restrained tribute to him before the habs canucks game. All I can do is hope the habs actually do the opposite of what they have done for most of the season and show up in...

    R.I.P le Gros Bill

Jean Beliveau, the long time captain of the Montreal Canadiens, passed away at 83. The classiest former player, I've ever seen. Turned down a senate appointment ( thought representatives should be elected), turned down being governor general to be with his family and did nothing but live his...

    internet tv?

The last strand for cord cutters is indeed regional sports. The big 4 can be got other ways ( ota or internet) and a lot of tv is available 24 hours later which is ok for shows but not for sports that have a very short best by date.

    internet tv?

That .me is montenegro. There are legal ways to get Internet TV and at best questionably legal ways. Hd over the air is still pretty much free depending on where you are.

    What's your favorite poison?

if you like the chill but not the dilution you should try the scotch rocks which are simply impervious stones you keep in the freezer. I know a couple of " scotch guys" who swear by them, me I never liked them. I'm definately a room temp kind of guy. nothing says bourbon geek like drinking...

    What's your favorite poison?

I forgot about blanton, it seems to be gone from my market or they moved it at my neighborhood liquor store. Every week it seems there are new ones, I bought a bottle of high west from Utah that was okay and had Breckenridge at a tasting ( lots of people really seemed to like this) but it was...
