This looks like marketing move, slim iphone in one hand and slim grill in the other. This is for the crowd that lives on the 8th floor swanky apartment building. Conversation goes something like this... “Cool grill dude, looks nice, slim and portable” way better than what your grandfather used...

Looks like it has a pull out grease tray. May work well for apartments with a lower price point.

Yes i was thinking zip tie first thing, ill have to see if i have anything that small.

The thing is without the rod the arms as i call them have too much play and get pushed out about 1 inch each. So the shelf falls off. The rod keeps the arms in the same position so the shelf does not fall.

Jon thanks for your input. Maybe i can make a thread in the existing rod and then use a nut even that there is not much space. Or maybe some thick wire strong enough but malleable so i can bend it with a plier. Will see what works best and report back, may be a while. Appreciate the suggestions.

I have the Q3200 with the removable side shelves. There is a metal rod below the shelf support so that the shelf does not move in or out. Issue is the metal rod only is held in place by the plastic. It broke in one side so now the metal rod keeps falling down. Not only that but the shelf itself...

1000 no doubt for cooking, how a gas grill is built right !!! Silver B is a cost cutting measure However given the scarcity and expensive parts for the 1000 that is an issue

This sounds like heresy...but i have transformed many unfixable gas grill into....charcoal grills 😀 Yes, they don't have the right cutouts and the air they need but i always make it work.
