    Stoker Log 4.2

I understand Jack. I never really considered running StoekrLog remotely, but that should work if you're able to also do the telnet as well. My router is so funcky, I can't get port 80 or 23 remotely and I've tried everything. I bought a new router but has a problem and won't even hook up to the...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Didn't realize it could be that far off. I usually get 10 degree variation between the meet on top and lower grates on mine and lately, I have given up and seeing both hit target. When the first one goes above its target by a couple of degrees, I pull it off whether the other one is also there...

    Stoker Log 4.2

I am totally if favor of your changes. I never want the the Stoker to make a sound. The most challenging thing about calibrating the probes was finding the correct boiling temp. But if I had guessed 212, I would have been 1.5° off. I'm not that picky. It's way more difficult finding the best...

    Stoker Log 4.2

I suppose that would assume that the port number of the stoker itself could be changed. I would think that maybe starting all names for a particular pit with a common designation like [1]Pit ,[1]brisket,[1]butt ,[2]pit, [2]butt might be simpler to code and clearer for the user.

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, I just tried your current version for a disconnect alarm, it must have been disabled somehow in the updates. BTW I have an active web page setup to handle email alarms on your system. It was not working for a while because of a "password reset and forgot about it problem" due to old age...

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

I just pulled mine, they are setting in foil as we speak. I actually pulled them at 187. They'll finish off nicely in my 5 day cooler. As promised, before I pulled my butts, I turned off the Stoker. I got no alarm at all. So.... I'll be working on mine tomorrow evening and Amir is working on his...

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

The clay platter will not cause you to use more fuel, it just buffers the temp spikes, catch the drippings, which cause flare ups, and eliminates the hard crust on the bottom of the meat. It looks like, according to the chart you send a 5-6 degree drop before the fan kicked in, but I may be...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, How about sending out an email alert if all communications to the stoker are lost. Ken

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

BTW, the meat looks totally inedible. Please freeze it and send it my house for further examination and testing.

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

Wow, what a bummer. I understand your frustration and I'd be more than pixxed if I were you. With your display glazing over however, I'd have to say you have a brand new problem that could only be cured by having the unit replaced unless there was a power glitch on the line. The # 3 pic...

    Stoker - Wireless Gaming Adapter

Yes Larry, I think you've got it. Good luck on the cook, I've got a couple of butts going now myself. I brined them so they should cook a little faster, been on for 3:07 now, and up to 144°.

    Stoker - Wireless Gaming Adapter

Larry, I might be able to answer the last question. You can set alarms on the StokerLog without setting the alarms on the Stoker itself. On the StokerLog program, you can see a large UPDATE button. If you press that button with alarms set on the StokerLog, the software will update the Stoker...

    Stoker - Wireless Gaming Adapter

I'd say no on running Stokerlog on 2 computers at the same time. It uses telnet to communicate with he stoker. The stoker doesn't multitast with telnet.

    Stoker Case

Why don't you just go down the local wally world and get a clear plastic box large enough to hold all that stuff. Cut a couple of holes for the cables and you're done. Probably won't look that bad either.

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, The SMTP mail is pretty simple on your end, it must be, it's the way I did it in timers. I've had 2 people reporting that it wasn't working for them, but I think they have a software blocking it. I've ad my best luck with gmail working as my mail server. It uses SSL, so give them fields...

First Stoker cook, a couple of questions

You can use the 2 programs at the same time. I do not use the telnet access and that would present a problem. Ken

    StokerLog Version 4.0 Preview

Bob, In the setting screen, try changing the drop rate to a lower number to correct the lid open issue. Mine works good at 7.

First Stoker cook, a couple of questions

Larry, A few of us have noticed that when a temperature is reached and then is exceeded for a longer period of time, like your, the fan will not kick in when it should. IMHO, this is a programming flaw, not major, and nothing that can't be handled. If I'm observing the cook, and see that the...

    StokerLog Version 4.0 Preview

Bob, Send me a snapshot of your setup screen to my gmail account. krown.kpb@gmail.com. (If you don't know how to do that, let me know) And I'm a little confused about your timer issue. I have 3 separate one shot timers and 1 continous loop timer. What am I missing? I working on alarms now, but...

First Stoker cook, a couple of questions

I threw out my reel to reel a couple of years ago. It had been broke for about 20 years, thought I might get it fixed one day. Shoot, you can't even get a TV fixed these days. Suck it up and move on I guess. Now my telephone has an MP3 player, camera, and who knows what else. BTW , the worst...
