    Weber Performer without Gas Assist...

    Can a Weber Performed (old metal table style) that doesn't have the gas assist be upgraded? Does Weber have the parts necessary for this upgrade and will the non-gas performer handle them without to many mods? Anyone done this here? Thanks.

    Thanks Gary, I thought I'd seen a thread on it b4 but couldn't find it. Bob - I thought the brick BBQ looked pretty cool also. Looks like it'd be great for grilling/searing - trying to think how it could be modified to do low/slow cooking.

    Yea, I can see how air-flow and ash access could be impacted. Maybe turn one side into a door that can be opened...

    I'm considering ordering the weber cart plans available at the link below. I have a 1.5 year old son the idea of keeping him away from the hot parts of the kettle sounds good. Anyone ever try building one of these?? I'm curious as to how the wood is protected from the hot parts of the grill...

    New OTG or Performer

    Bring back red kettles....

    ..and not the one-touch/master-touch red kettles that they had until recently, but the fire engine red color kettles from the "bar-b-kettle" days. I know that Weber stopped making them for environmental reasons - disposing of the paints by-product was too expensive or something of the sort...
