This Isn’t Going To End Well

We left Payson for the PNW in August 2017. We didn't know it was that bad there. We're keeping you, Barb and the pups in our thoughts...stay safe.

Hot Water Heater: Repair or Replace?

Didn't mean for it to sound like a complaint...I was extremely pleased he let me buy my own water heater to save some money. Plus, he removed the old one, installed the new one and hauled off the old one so the $200 turned out to be a bargain!

Hot Water Heater: Repair or Replace?

I asked my plumber how much for a new 40 gallon propane water heater installed when ours went out. He said around $800-1000 including labor, etc. I asked if I buy one, how much to install and he said $200 for install only. I bought a new 40 gallon water heater from Home Depot that was propane...

    No more Maull-ed pork steaks?

My dad used to have his B-I-L ship him Maull's a case at a time. We loved the stuff...sad to hear this.

Keep Rich and Barb in our thoughts...

Just heard back from Rich. The town of Meyer is under evacuation notice and ChuckO is right, Rich and Barb are in Prescott Valley - they're right next to Meyer. Hopefully Rich will keep us updated here on the forum.

Keep Rich and Barb in our thoughts...

...and prayers. There's a 25,000 acre wildfire burning in Prescott, AZ and it's only 1% contained. There are mass evacuations in the whole area. I pm'd Rich yesterday but haven't heard back. Let's hope they are safe and hopefully far enough away from harm.

    Washington > Vancouver: Smokehouse Provisions

Thanks for posting this Chris (and Eric)! It was perfect timing - we're leaving tomorrow for the PNW for a couple of weeks to look for an area to relocate, and since our daughter lives in Vancouver we might have to find time (and money!) to visit this place.

Hello! "Long time reader, first time poster"

Welcome to "the greatest smoke on Earth" Mark! Sounds like you have quite the background in grilling, smoking and Q'ing! You'll love hanging around here - lots to learn as well as lots to teach to us. This place is the ultimate "think tank" for all things combining heat, meat and anything else...

    Slick Ice

Glad Jo is OK Bob. We call it "black ice" in Washington state because you just can't see it on the asphalt roads. Stay safe - this winter looks like it's going to be bumpy!

anybody using Adblock plus and what do you think of it

That would be me JimK, and I'm very happy with it. I'm using Safari 9.1.3 with OSX Mavericks (10.9.5) and have no issues with it.

Rotisserie folks: One bank of coals or two?

Chad, I've used my rotisserie with a boneless pork butt (still wanting to try a big bird!) and I had banks of coals on both sides of a drip pan, and I was running temps of 350-375˚F. However, I've heard that the design of a Weber kettle is to provide a circulation of the heat, so the two banks...
