long shot here.... who has a skyline condiment thingy they'd be willing to part with?

Good point, it's probably in the guy's garage on a high shelf somewhere and he forgot about it. Oh well, 50 miles away so I'm not chasing after it. In my short experience doing this, I've learned that just when you think you can't find something rare, stuff seems to pop up, and nearby. I will...

long shot here.... who has a skyline condiment thingy they'd be willing to part with?

Haha, yes. It's too bad because it looks pretty cool on the side. Luckily I still have the rod holding end cap so I can make my own hook apparatus with a few screws to nest in the frame and end cap. This owner was pretty proud that his lasted so long since new, so my guess is it rusted away...

long shot here.... who has a skyline condiment thingy they'd be willing to part with?

Bought a great shape skyline a few months ago and didn't realize it at the time that it was missing the condiment rack. It was the original owner and he had rigged up a piece of painted wood with hooks on it so I didn't notice. Rest of the grill in great shape and would like to bring back to...

    3000 flip up table question

Best of luck at it. Just keep chipping away and all of a sudden one day you'll be done. Found this picture of the back of the fiip table in my archives. Should help as a start. I have to get the dimension for the middle bar though. something like 4" i think from top of bar to end of shelf...

    3000 flip up table question

I was 15 1/4" L x 1 9/16" for everything. flip shelf was the same as the other ones. Just be sure to measure the flip up bracket positioning when swapping to the new wood.

    Heirloom Redhead Genesis 2000 Restoration

A big 'way to go!' on turning those screws down. I went on an endless search for replacement lid hardware and never really found anything that worked right so I've settled with the flax hex screws.

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

I went on a weber manual binge a while back trying to figure out what model I had as well as some of the difference between seemingly similar models. That was where I found out about the spacer. The 3000 I picked up did not have one and I doubt the part would have gone missing, but that...

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

Yes, that bracket is not included on the woodie models, only on the durawood models. If you look at an exploded diagram of the wood vs durawood genesis, you'll see the difference.

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

I used sapele, which was all my local lumberyard had in the exterior category. Cedar would have been a bit cheaper if they had it, but not by much. Based on what I read here, wood availability and price seems to vary wildly by region. Bought 2, 14' 1x4 sticks and ripped down on a friends...

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

I got a hold of him through CL. Took a while because he didn't my z bars in stock and had to make them. Couple weeks and then his partner sent me an invoice. Pretty easy process. I think he's cranking out product and has help to run the back end.

How deep does the discolration penetrate? Possible to sand it out?

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

Lot of nuances here. The side table and flip table was easy. Those boards are flush with the edge of the z bar. On the 3000 lower tables, it's slightly indented like 3/16" so when two assembled tables are butted together, you still have a board gap. The larger lower z bars were actually...

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

This will be a big pain for you if you have OCD, like I did. Tried many variations to get the spacing I was satisfied with.

Yes, holes are there. Also came with the protective film over the finished side of the piece.

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

About two months ago I got 4 short bars, and 4 long ones (bottom shelf for 3000 size) and it came in a bit under $60 shipped. I think that included a bit of a deal because of the quantity.

My Genesis 1000 Restoration (Should have found a better Grill)

If the existing Z bars are rusted, the alternative is removing the old paint, sanding away the rust, passivating, filling in the pitting with body filler and then repainting. Something I did not want to get involved in for such aged deteriorating sheet metal. He used 20 gauge for the z, which...

Stanbroil Stainless Steel Cooking Grates $25.99

How are you guys gauging magnetism? I have some small neodymium cubes... 300 stainless i feel a slight pull but hardly anything to get bent up about. 400 is enough to hold papers to the fridge.

    Side burner broken?

Same exact thing happened to me. Spider guard had melted a bit, and the wildlife moved in over the years. Had to go to town with HF tubing brushes to actually get the thing to light and burn clean.

    Weber Genesis 3000? Restoration.

Deep down, i'm the same way. I see 25 year old cars for sale on bring a trailer with under 10k miles. Don't understand it either. Don't worry, this gem will get used.
