Selling my Spirit II E-310 for a move, buy new Spirit or Genesis?

I have a new Genesis S-345 (the Costco specific variation of the S-335). In the past I've had a Genesis Silver A as well as a 2018ish Spirit 2 burner and a Spirit E-330. I do feel like the S-345 is the best of what I've had. The Silver A might have been thicker metal on the frame and slightly...

    Fan for fireboard drive 2

I use the Pit Viper as well. The Fireboard 2 Drive does not require the dongle. The fans aren’t smart, it’s just a barrel connector, so it’s all controlled by power. Any fan (12v I believe) with the same size connector should work.

Are open cart grills being DC'd?

I need to slow down at times. I just saw E-330 and immediately thought of that Spirit as it’s a really nice model I’d hate to see discontinued. I thought a the 3+sear on Genesis were 335 models, so learned something new I guess.

Are open cart grills being DC'd?

I can still see the E-330 and add to cart is active: https://www.weber.com/US/en/grills/gas-grills/spirit/spirit-e-330-gas-grill/46810001.html I see the E-210 for a two burner open cart too. Myself, I prefer the cabinets just for the looks. I know they are prone to rusting though.

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

Having had a couple insulated pellet grills and several that were not, my experience has been insulated pellet grills generally burn a lot less pellets The insulated cookers I’ve had were the largest except for a Traeger Texas. My MAK is not double wall insulated, but the design of the flamezone...

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

If you do these things, you will take away all the benefits of the SmokeFire. This design is what makes the SmokeFire grill better at high temps than all the other pellet grill in that price area and gives it a better smoke profile. The drip pan design of Traeger, CampChef, Recteq, etc...

I saw something today that will BLOW YOUR MIND!

Ahh, makes more sense now. Thanks for the clarification. I’d probably be in the meh camp if that’s what it ends up being, but could see where many think it’s cool.

I saw something today that will BLOW YOUR MIND!

I wouldn't consider that the least bit surprising with the rising costs of everything else. No way it's mind blowing.

    What would you do?

I love my Webers, but maybe my MAK more 😉. With total free reign I’d shoot high first. But it all depends on what you want to really do and how much work. For easy, a really nice pellet grill. For just smoking if I want to play with the fire a Franklin or a KBQ. For all around charcoal a Weber...

    Buying New Weber - 7mm vs 9mm

The 9mm will probably last around 20% longer 🤪 All I know is I want solid SS over any other type of grate on my grills. If you grill has the power and you buy into the science part of it, you want thinner grates so you get less conduction. However, there‘s other factors such as spacing too. If...

    Summit Kamado grate height?

It’s really easy, you just flip it over and grind down the back a bit until the lid will close. You start at the rear under the serial number and work your way out about 1/3rd of the way each direction. It’s probably around 3/8“ you remove from very rear then are just tapering out. I used an...

any buyers remorse of e6 summit purchase when compared to other weber kettles?

Efficiency, capacity, and temp stability are it‘s biggest advantages over a Performer for smoking. A Performer w/SnS will work just fine, the WSCG will just do a little better. I love my WSCG, but honestly it’s the least used grill out of my main 3 because most days I choose super easy. However...

Just wanted to brag a little

Amazing score, you really should keep it. I’m more like 20-30 minutes to grill and around an hour to be ready to smoke something, but hard to beat for some things. For $100 plus a vortex you can keep it just for grilling chicken wings, legs, thighs. It can do anything though.

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

I’m curious if the sales are still disappointing for the SmokeFire or if they are purely trying to just keep growing their share of the pellet market? It would be interesting to know. It seems like there was an across the board Weber price hike a few months ago for everything but the SmokeFire...

CNBC: Why your smartphone will be the next must-have barbecue grill accessory

Most WiFi grills, Thermostats, etc. still work perfectly fine without internet. My Ecobee is not much different than a programmable thermostat, except it’s a lot more convenient to program with an app and make adjustments to the programming. Yes, sure there’s features that are internet enhanced...

CNBC: Why your smartphone will be the next must-have barbecue grill accessory

I just bought a Genesis II about a month ago, and quite honestly thought very hard about the new smart grill. Two things I liked, the black frame instead of grey and the real time temp display right on the grill. In the end, I decided to save $300-400 and go with the dumb grill, mostly because...

    Looking for a small gasser

I’ve been very happy with the Traveler. compared to the Q1200 and Q2200 it’s bigger than both. Compared to the 3xxx, I’m not sure on size, but the 3xxx has 2 burners, so that would be an advantage to the Q, but the Traveler is a lot more portable than a Q3xxx if that’s a desire.

    Pallet questions.

Traeger owns a patent on flavored oils for pellets, but I think whether or not Traeger uses oils is speculation. I’ve never seen evidence that they do or do not. Lots of companies patent ideas in case they decide to pursue them.

    Pallet questions.

Very cool, I didn‘t realize they went the 100% route.
