    Hack-Job 26" Performer

Stefan, the gent who bought it came from Denton and said he had 3 or 4 26s and offered to bring me them and the parts to build more of these. I declined, not really being able to do the woodwork.

    Angles on Angle Grinders...

Thought I would resurrect this thread on grinders after using one on a firebox today. The first box I did with my neighbors DeWalt grinder. Did another today with my variable speed Bosch. Being able to dial the speed down is a wonderful thing when grinding a box-no jumping around or feeling...

I will just leave this here

What I Missed Yesterday Since I'm unemployed, I generally start my day drinking some coffee and browsing FB marketplace and Craigslist, Letgo etc.. Doing so yesterday and my neighbor calls me, asks me if I'm home and able to help him unload a grill. He rolls up with a 2 or 3 year old Natural...

    Sidewinder?

This grill doesn't need paint on the box,but there are some baked on spot along the edges I'd like to clean up. Anyone used the Sam's cleaner for that without stripping the paint? Nobody has found a really good paint substitute for these, correct? Thanks

    Sidewinder?

Resigned to the fact that older grills aren't around, i decided to jump in with the newer stuff. Some 7528 Stainless grates popped up on Craigslist for $40.00, so I jumped on those thinking that I could find a grill that needed them. Then, next day this $40.00 sidewinder. Hardly a spec of...

    Genesis II E-310

Larry, Those instructions sound weird. Is that in the owner's manual? LIghting has an effect on whether you see a flame. As long as it heats up, I would't worry.

I also have a similar performer that's my main cooker. Mine's a 2011. The metal table came out in 2015, so that one is at least older than that. They will be priced around here from $100-$200. There's currently a similar NIB model nearby for $175. The table looks dirty, it should clean up...

    Hack-Job 26" Performer

Yeah, there's not enough 26 sellers and too many buyers looking for one cheap. And most sellers want some outrageous money for them. If a somewhat cheap rotisserie were available for the 26, I would have kept it.

I will just leave this here

There aren't any 000s or ABCs around here for me to rehab. Well, there is a 1000 priced at 30.00, but its a complete rust bucket and they turned down my offer of 10.00. :D I think there's a market for nicer slat grills, just none around. There do seem to be lots of reasonable priced E/S 300s...

More of my handiwork you might not have seen in the kettle forum-much too nice to just leave. Notice Jon's sell sheet in my facebook ad :)-replete with typos https://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?72100-Hack-Job-26-quot-Performer https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/493968168078973/

    Hack-Job 26" Performer

Finally finished this thing up so I can sell it-just don't need a 26" often enough. Not near the level of quality as Oglenn's above, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out. My BIL is a very fine woodworker, but I'm a pretty sorry wood finisher.....Need to get the charcoal bin on it!

    Z-bars or no Z-Bars

I would vote for z bars, especially on the top. I could fab up some inexpensive z bars for you next week if you wanted. They wouldn't be perfect, but certainly passable. I used them on the skyline I did. You're right that they would scratch easy, that's pretty much true of anything that's...

    Rehab for Hire

l've been asked by a couple of people about rehabbing an old Genesis-one of which is getting ready to do an 8 hour road trip to go pick one up! I plan on charging $140 for cleaning/paint/wood finishing and he would pay new wood/hardware and whatever replacement parts he wants. I will also tell...

    wood performer table

I think it would be a very small market. I'm in the middle of building a wood table for a 26" Performer I built. I would much rather have been able to purchase a replacement plastic or metal version.

    NW Chicago Calling...Larry? Bruce?

I've got the green version of that 2000-2001 gold C. Great heavy duty frame and it cooks well, but I think it has to be one of the uglier grills Weber has put out. Especially that big plastic handle-dirt collects all around it

    Emblem/Badge question

I just spray some hi-temp red on a paper plate or something and use a itty bitty brush. I have very shaky hands, and if I can do it, anyone can :)
