What is the temperature with the burners set to low-off-low. What does it read with only one burner in low? I think temperatures between 400 and 500 degrees are normal with the three burners set to low. As GGross points out, the use of the three burners is perfect to cook steaks at high temps.

I don't know, I was reading reviews of those ceramic tiles and some people complain about how brittle they are and that they do not last long, I am cheap...I would not want to have to buy new ones every two or three years. Is one set enough to cover the whole area?

The Genesis Silver B grates are 17.4 x 23.6, the 300 series grates are 16.2 x 23 so they won't fit.
