If You Could Only Have One Weber?

Brett, it has been in my record since elementary school. Had a teacher tell me if I put as much effort into doing my work as I did trying to get out of it I would make a good mark. 😂

If You Could Only Have One Weber?

Since, as I get older I find I use charcoal less an less and my Q3200 more and more as there is often just two of us at mealtime. It is just easier on fuel and to maintain over the kettles and Gennies. Sad to say, convenience wins! Q3200 for me.

Another Genesis 1000 rehab, FB marketplace find for free

Jeffrey, another option is to use a Dremel with a wire wheel in it, if you have one, to clean up the valves. It will take longer but you don’t have to worry about chewing them up by getting too aggressive. Steve’s method works well though but I am not as good as he is at controlling it. 😆

I will just leave this here

John, I didn’t have the setup you have but I did use a rattle can of Fluid Film to spray inside the frame of my 3000. I then pushed a bottle brush in the tubing a few times to try and push it farther than the can would spray. Figured it couldn’t hurt.

And if you want it to look fancy, after you cut off the rod, install stainless steel acorn nuts instead of regular ones. And put never seize on them so you can get it apart in ten years for the next refurb.

Let's do something about this tank scale: Genesis 1000-5000

And if the white plastic sleeve cracks and disintegrates from age like mine did, you can fabricate one from a piece of wooden dowel and a washer if you have a little patience.

    Sandblasting

Yeah, I should have specified I don’t use it on bare aluminum. Just spray it on the inside of the firebox after scraping out all the thick gunk. And I don’t leave it very long. Just long enough to soften up the gunk before I pressure wash it. I rinse it off with the regular hose on low pressure...

    Sandblasting

I would think you could do it in an hour depending on the volume of your blaster. I made a windbreak and did mine in the backyard with my small one but it was hot under the blasting hood so I had to take lots of breaks. Not sure how long it took. I scrapped and cleaned it first with oven cleaner...

    Camping grub

Do you have the LED light "Grill n Go" for Q series?

I finally bought two good headlamps this summer so will try that as the days shorten this fall. USB Rechargeable and really bright compared to the cheap crap I had. Makes it easier to be sure all three dogs have done their business before I let them back in before going to bed. 😆

Do you have the LED light "Grill n Go" for Q series?

Thanks Joe. Those ones are $71 Canuck bucks on Amazon.ca so will be looking for something cheaper. I liked the extra light yours gave off compared to the Weber light I have.

Joe, where did you find the magnetic light?

Do you have the LED light "Grill n Go" for Q series?

Gasper, it should be Weber 7580. If you have a Q3200 it should have come on it from the factory. The older Q300 grills did not come with the light. You might find a 6530 out there that clamps on the handle but I think they have been discontinued.
